Im expecting a score of around 510-525 did i have a chance to get a government medical seats for MBBS , I am from general category and a resident of up, please help....

Dr.Chhavi Srivastava 16th Sep, 2020
Hi , as per your query I would like to tell you that last year least marks to secure a seat in government medical college under 85% state quota from your category was 575 marks in autonomous medical college bahraich. So according to that you won't get a seat on government medical college . Remember cutoff varies every year depending on number of students appearing in exam difficulty level of exam, students scoring more than you and your category.

When government of Rajasthan has started 15 new GMCs in Rajasthan, what will be cut off of NEET 2020/21 ? How many government medical seats in Rajasthan after and before it ?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 21st Aug, 2020

In 2019, Rajasthan was approved 10 Medical Colleges in Jaisalmre, Karauli, Banswara, Alwar, Nagaur, Bundi, Sirohi, Baran, Chottorgarh and Sriganganagar districts. But they haven't been added to the existing list yet. As of now the list of Colleges in Rajasthan are 37 and can be checked at: https://medicine.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-medical-colleges-in-india?state=Rajasthan&ownership=Public/Government,Private&degree=M.B.B.S. So the new Medical Colleges haven't been started for this Academic year yet. Now in 2019, under State Quota, the cut offs for various Categories have been as follows:

General Category: 470: MGMC, Jaipur

SC: 461: GMC, Barmer

ST: 442: GMC, Barmer

OBC: 581: GMC, Dungarpur

Now this is 2019 GMC data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. So you should score atleast 50-75 marks more than those mentioned against your Category here for a seat in  GMC in Rajasthan.

will more medical seats will be added for 2020 neet mbbs from now ? how many seats are expected at tims of counselling?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Aug, 2020

Now AIIMS and JIPMER will be conducting admission to their MBBS seats through NEET score at All India Counselling level. AIIMS has approximately 1500 seats in all of its branches and JIPMER has 200 seats including its branches. So 1700 seats will be included in All India Counselling. This number is certain. There might be Colleges whose seat intake might be increased and we are not sure of the number yet. And this year, there has been no news regarding any New Medical College yet. But last year West Bengal had 5 new Colleges along with other States. This year, Tamilnadu is getting 6 new Medical Colleges. Even if their seat intake is 100, they will add atleast 600 new seats. So that will be approximately 2100 MBBS seats approximately that we are certain of.

if the neet will be canceled then how they will give medical seats??

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 24th Jun, 2020
NEET will not be cancelled. There has been no update yet either from MHRD or NTA regarding new dates.  At this point in time, nothing is clear. CBSE is supposed to give a statement to the Supreme Court as on June 23rd regarding either postponement or cancellation of its board exams. And this has been postponed to June 25th.  And NTA will also have to consider many other factors before postponing NEET. The MHRD did announce that there might be an official statement regarding a fresh schedule for NEET, JEE and UGC-NET today. So there might be a change in the schedule of the exam. We do not have clear information as such as of now. There might be an official statement atleast before the end of the day. So please wait to hear from MHRD regarding this. You can ask either check the official news or you can come back and repost your questions post June 25th. We should have updated information by then.

How many medical seats under govt quota in Manipal Medical colleges.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 11th Jun, 2020

Manipal Medical College is a Private Medical College of Karnataka. It is a Deemed to be University for both the campuses. There is a seat intake of 250. There are 3 Categories in Private Medical Colleges. Category A is the Government Quota Seats. And only candidates of the home State are eligible to apply for these seats but Karnataka being an Open State, this rule is an exception. B Category seats are also called Management Quota Seats and they are filled through State Counselling and the remaining seats are filled through direct Admissions by contacting the College directly. Here the fees is usually nothing less than 40 lakhs. The last Category is NRI seats Category and you cannot apply for that. Now Karnataka has a 40:50:10 ratio for these 3 Categories of seats. So approximately 100 seats are Govt. Quota seats.

For Karnataka State medical seats, does one have to fulfil all domicile criteria listed? Or, any one? For example, if a student has studied in Bangalore for over 7 years, is he or she eligible for a State seat? Is the language criterion a must for such a student?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 8th Jun, 2020

Aditya, you can cjeck the eligibility criteria for appearing for Karntaka State Counselling and  claiming the State's domicile at: http://kea.kar.nic.in/ugneet2019/UGNEET_instructions.pdf . It is not mandatory that one should fulfil all the criteria for claiming domicile. There are various categories of fulfulling domicile criteria depending on the no.of years you have either lived or studied in Karnataka or on the basis of your parent's permanent resident status. Now regarding the language proficiency test, it is for those Candidates whose parents have been from Karnataka, have Tulu or Karnataka as their mother tongue and the child has studied 12th outside Karnataka. But if a student has studied consecutive 7 years within Karnataka, he/she doesn't have to appear for Language Test.
