On what marks can I get a government medical college through central pool quota up domicile obc

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 23rd Aug, 2019
Dear Sudhanshu, this depends on the cut offs. Every year cut offs change and they are dependant on various factors like no.of candidates appearing for NEET, no.of candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. When you are applying for All India Counselling, your State domicile doesnt really matter. In 2018, an All India Rank of 12614 secured a seat in Mizoram Institute of Medical Sciences under OBC Category. It approximately converts to 550 marks. This is 2019 data and as mentioned earlier, cut offs change. If you want a seat in GMC under All India Counselling, your aim should be nothing less than 600-650. If you are preparing for NEET 2020, this might help you:

Careers360 is conducting the All India Talent search exam where students of 11th and 12th PCM/PCB can test their knowledge and enhance their preparation by knowing their stronger and weaker areas and win prizes and scholarships worth 1.25 Crore.

MATHEMATICS portion of jee will be little tougher to solve for medical Aspirants..If you have opted biology then you should focus on medical entrance EXAMINATION...

What is the difference between doctors and surgeons??

deepanshuj0108 Student Expert 22nd Aug, 2019

Hello Souvik,

Physicians and surgeons diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses. Physicians examine patients; take medical histories; prescribe medications; and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. They often counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare. Surgeons operate on patients to treat injuries, such as broken bones; diseases, such as cancerous tumors; and deformities, such as cleft palates.

There are two types of physicians, with similar degrees: M.D. (Medical Doctor) and D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine). Both use the same methods of treatment, including drugs and surgery, but D.O.s place additional emphasis on the body's musculoskeletal system, preventive medicine, and holistic (whole-person) patient care. D.O.s are most likely to be primary care physicians, although they can be found in all specialties.

Which one is a better option- to get admission in a new government medical collage(opened this year) or take a drop?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 22nd Aug, 2019
Dear Neha, it is always advisable to grab a seat in a GMC. If this GMC has bee recently opened, it would have passed the inspeactions and proposals by MCI. Or else they wouldnt get approvals to set up a GMC in the first place. Next year there might be more students with whom you have to compete with. Though there might be your hardwork to pull you through, it is always advisable to grab an opportunity when it knocks your door.

If I am giving neet from OBC category will I get admission in Delhi medical college if I get required marks to get in?

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 22nd Aug, 2019
Hello aspirant,.

When looking at the past year data of NEET what we can conclude is that, marks do not matter anymore, rather candidate rank in NEET will be deciding factor in getting admission in medical college/university. My advice for you will be that you should not aim for cut-off marks rather you should set your mind to give your best and get higher rank in the exam that will increase your chance of getting admission.
Also as per previous year data, to be on safer side I'll suggest you to aim for 600+ marks in neet. The closing rank for obc candidates is around 5000. So you must work hard..
