if we doesnt know the swimming can we eligible for merchant navy?

Sayan 19th Jul, 2022

Hello,

Even while it would be beneficial if you knew how to swim, it is not actually required because we discourage using your energy to freestyle swim in an emergency scenario, which is why we have enough effective lifejackets on board and all training involves donning an appropriate lifejacket.

However, you will need to be qualified for a wet environment and practise by leaping from great heights into pools, as well as doing other feats while wearing a life jacket.

In a group emergency, you have your lifejacket, unless you are in a single event where you went overboard alone and would have to swim to be retrieved.

Thank You

Any Class X pass understudies or higher however from a non-science foundation can enlist in the Merchant Navy by selecting for the GP Rating Course. Confirmations for the GP Rating Course are finished consistently.

Each boat has officials and Seamen (simply a language), so on the off chance that you do those 3 or long-term courses, you first sail as a trainee, and afterward following 6 a year you are qualified for turning into an official.

Though when you do a GP Rating course, the position you get is Able Seamen (AB) or Ordinary Seamen (OS). According to the rules, Ab or OS requires three years before he is qualified for turning into an official.
