Amrita University allows smart phones and its campus(+hostel) has free Wi-Fi for students.However they are prohibited to be used in Academic blocks, especially Class rooms.Laptops, Gadgets and Mobiles are allowed in the hostel premises, while Laptops are allowed even in classrooms for academic purposes only.

Yes mobile phones are allowed in most of the colleges provided you do not use them in between ongoing lectures.Yes most of the colleges do organize farewell parties and freshers(welcome) party for students of the college but this time due to the ongoing corona virus pandemic many colleges have made provisions to set up online or virtual parties for the student to ensure everyones safety.

In which scenario you are asking this is a concern. But if you in general asking it for your use then yeah you can keep two mobile phones as a primary and secondary device. Now if there is any regulations for the purpose you are asking and its mentioned in the brochure then you need to have a Laptop.

Yes, mobile phones are allowed in both hostels and college throughout your college life including your 1st year as you will be  away from your parents and it is important for being connected with them and also generally you have college group on WhatsApp where you get notifications and notices .

But in hostel / college you will be master of your own, so you need to take your own decisions and that should be in the favour of your goals. So, Just because, you have mobile  doesn't mean that you can use it , play games all day long,you need to use it in a wise manner, for example, if you want to play games then obviously you can do it but it should be for limited time and it shouldn't hamper your studies.

Also, make sure that you don't use mobile in your college while attending lectures etc.

mobile phones are allowed in Indian Military Academy , Dehradun (IMA) but during the free periods. You will not be allowed to use them during classes. Also, the scheduled is that much packed that you will not get much time to use mobile phones. Besides keeping the cadets in touch with family and friends, IMA authorities feel cellphones will help take the edge off the rough and tumble of military training.

As per the regulation of the official website, I don't find any restrictions regarding phones in the campus. So yeah Mobile phone are allowed in the campus.
