National Eligibility cum Entrance Test
With a NEET score of 142, it's highly unlikely to secure an MBBS seat in either a private or deemed university for the general category. The cutoffs for MBBS, even in private and deemed institutions, generally require scores significantly higher than 142. While some private colleges might have lower cutoffs in management quotas, 142 is likely below even those relaxed thresholds.
With 249 marks in NEET, chances for BDS in govt colleges are very low, but you can get admission in private or deemed universities.
Fee Structure (Approx):
Govt college: 10K – 1L/year
Private college: 2L – 4L/year
Deemed university: 4L – 6L/year
Dear Krishna,
it would be great if you share your category because frankly speaking brother with this marks in general category getting top government colleges would be tough unless you are other category or may have state quota then you get government college in some states otherwise you can apply to private medical colleges.
Do your best
great. thanks!
Hello aspirant, SMIAS Gandhinagar is a government BAMS college, so it doesn’t have a private quota. All seats are filled through Gujarat state AYUSH counselling and AIQ. With a NEET rank of 81,904, your chances are low but possible in later rounds if cutoffs drop. The annual fee is around 6,000 rupees, and hostel charges are minimal. You should register for counselling and list SMIAS as a top preference.
Dear student, With a NEET 2025 score of 140 in the General category , you are not eligible for MBBS admission in India — not even in private or deemed universities. The official qualifying cutoff for General category is 144 , and only those who score 144 or above can take part in the counselling process.
Since your score is below the cutoff, you won't be considered for any MBBS seat this year.
With 8.7 lakh NEET rank, MBBS seat in government or private colleges is not possible.
Options:
Govt. MBBS – Not possible
Private MBBS – Very unlikely
Deemed/NRI quota – Maybe (very high fees)
Try BDS, BAMS, BHMS, or BPT in private colleges during mop-up/stray rounds.
With a NEET 2025 All India Rank of 501088, you may have a chance at some private BDS colleges in Hyderabad, particularly those with minority status and potentially under the EWS category, though it may be competitive.
With 154 marks (SC category) in NEET 2025, getting an MBBS govt seat in Uttarakhand is not possible, even in mop-up rounds.
You can try for BAMS, BHMS, or paramedical courses through state counselling.
Hello aspirant, For the Kashmiri Migrant quota, you typically need a NEET score of around 330 to 380 to stay in the safe range. Some years, candidates with scores even slightly below 330 have secured seats during mop-up rounds. The required rank varies each year based on seat availability and applications but is generally much lower than general category cutoffs.
This quota is offered in a few states and colleges across India, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab. Colleges like Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi, a few in Rajasthan, and private institutions in Maharashtra are among those that reserve seats for this category. You’ll need to apply through the respective state counselling processes and select Kashmiri Migrant as your category during registration.
With a score of 505 and an EWS All India Rank of 5705, you have a good chance of getting a government medical college in Bihar through state quota counseling. You should definitely participate in the counseling process and explore options in your home state.
