as you may be aware, many national level exams have been postponed without any tentative dates for their conduction so please be patient about it all.

As for NIFT, the exam is typically conducted in the month of January each year but so far not even the application forms have been released.

For the first round of the exam, which involves basic stuff like maths, english and reasoning, you should be able to well if you are good enough in school.

This round also consists of questions which test your drawing skills, and your creativity, so a little bit of practice is required for improving your skills, and also take a look at the type of questions which are asked in the exam.

The second round, is the Situation Test round, which is the deciding factor of your rank.In this round, you are given various options to choose from, like, designing and making a 3D model of a bus stand/a poll booth/a room interior/ a parking lot, using only the materials provided to you by the college, and glue and scissors, in 3 hours.

Hello,NIFT exam can be written by a candidate appearing in the 12th board the same year for undergraduate degree.Even if the result of the candidate has not yet been announced the candidate can be provisionally allotted subjected that he  or she has the qualifying mark in the entrance exam and do not fail in the 12 the board results when announced. You  do not have to  12th/final year of college/final year of diploma  resultsof examination at the time of admission or counselling, but your  admission depends on the following conditions: -

• You must be below 18 years of age  and have to submit an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10 in the prescribed Proforma duly signed by the parent/guardian. Submission of the false document is a punishable offence.
• Candidates have to submit their qualifying degree to the campus director or joint director of the allotted college on or before a date to be announced soon.
• If a candidate’s result has not been declared at the time of admission and he/she is seeking provisional admission, in that case he/she shall have to provide relevant proof of having cleared the examination.
• Candidates who are seeking provisional admission will have to bring the date sheet/admit card/Principal’s certificate as proof of having taken the exam.
• Candidates who are seeking provisional admission will only be considered for admission if their result has not been declared by the institution or university.
• Age allowed for general category candidates as of October 01, 2019, is 23 years.
• Relaxation is given to reserve categories.

So according to above rules you can sit for the exam .

But you have to submit your results before taking admission.

They will ask for your 12th pass certificate during admission if you get through GAT/CAT & situation test.

Dear Aspirant

National Institute of Fashion technology has already conducted the entrance exam on January 20. The notification was released on the official website on October 2019.

The tentative dates for NIFT 2021 entrance exam is as follows:

Application:  01 Dec, 2020 - 31 Dec, 2020

Admit card: 10 Jan, 2021

Exam: 19 Jan,2021

Result: 12 march,2021

Interview: 22 April, 2021

Counselling: 10 May,2021

NIFT entrance exam dates are usually declared in the month of October, every year.  But this year its not updated yet .

But exam will take in February

On the basis of NIFT exam you can secure admission in courses such as  Bachelor of Design (BDes), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech).

You have to also apply for CAT ( creative ability test) and GAT ( general ability test) and this is for bdes and situation test too.

For bachelor of fashion technology you only have to give entrance plus GAT.

Exam duration is

• CAT for BDes: 3 Hours
• GAT for BDes : 2 Hours
• GAT for B fashion technology ;  3 Hours

Aspirants should be below 23 years of age for NIFT admission 2021.

As you are arts stream student then you can apply for bachelor in DESIGNING as bachelor in fashion technology requires PCM stream.

NIFT 2021consists of CAT and GAT. In CAT three questions will be asked for 100 marks. There is no negative marking for this. GAT Consists of 100 marks. Objective type questions are asked from the following

• English Comprehension - 25
• Quantitative Ability - 20
• Communication Ability - 25
• Analytical Ability - 15
• General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 15

Each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking for an incorrect answer. Candidates who qualify in CAT and GAT will have to appear for Situation Test.
