The cutoff varies every year depending on the various factors such as No. of Applicant appeared for the exam, Difficulty level of the exam, Performance of the candidates etc. so it is difficult to tell you the exact. But based on the previous year closing rank, The chances seems less to get any of NIFT campus as a General category.

Let me tell you for getting admission Into NIFT,you need to fill the NIFT Admission Entrance Exam forms which is conducted by NIFT,For getting admission into B.DES Courses from NIFT.You need to qualify this Entrance Exam.The Questions are From Quant/Resoning/English/General awareness/Design awareness. There are total 150 marks questions Cutooff generally goes around 130 + Marks for General Category student.There 3 hours of Exam.

The eligibility criteria of NIFT 2019 was announced by the National Institute of Fashion Technology on October 22, 2018. Aspirants seeking admissions to B.Des. and B.FTech programmes across sixteen campuses of the Institute must know NIFT 2019 eligibility criteria before filling the online application form. Those, who fulfill the specified age and educational requirements for NIFT entrance exam 2019, will be considered eligible.

Based on your rank of CMR 4279 and OBC rank 985, you can admission in fashion designing course in NIFT shillong and NIFT srinagar.

As per last year, the last rank admitted in OBC category in fashion designing in NIFT shillong was 4324 and NIFT srinagar was 4564.

You can also try applying for 2nd round counselling as you may get other options as well.
