Hello there,
In Karnataka CET, there is a horizontal reservation of 1% of total seats for NCC candidates across all categories. This means NCC quota seats are distributed within existing category reservations and do not change overall reservation percentages.
To be eligible for the NCC quota, candidates must have:
A valid NCC ‘B’ certificate obtained during studies in Karnataka.
Participation in recognized NCC camps such as Republic Day Camp or All India Thal Sainik Camp.
Preference is given to candidates with the President’s Award.
During document verification, candidates must submit original NCC certificates. Failure to provide these will disqualify them from the NCC quota seat allotment.
The NCC quota applies as a horizontal reservation, so it does not reduce seats available under SC, ST, OBC, or other categories.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
Hello
Admission to NCC (National Cadet Corps) for Class 11 (Hindi medium or any stream) usually starts around July to August 2025, at the beginning of the new academic session. Students need to apply through their school, as NCC units are linked with educational institutions.
The process generally includes filling out a form, followed by a physical fitness test and a basic interview. If you're interested, it’s best to talk to your school’s NCC officer or principal early to know the exact dates and requirements
Hii,
The following engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh have NCC units: Narasaraopeta Engineering College (NEC) in Guntur is a top college that hosts NCC activities including as camps and events. Andhra University College of Engineering in Visakhapatnam has a strong NCC unit that trains in drills and adventure.
Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology, and Research in Guntur also provides NCC with leadership training. These colleges offer NCC credentials (A, B, and C) and promote discipline, fitness, and patriotism. You can join NCC during your first or second year of B.Tech.
Check their websites for admission information.
With the score you have mentioned, securing a seat in Civil Engineering at Osmania University's University College of Engineering is highly unlikely, with your BC-B category, female status, and NCC quota.
your NCC certificate may provide additional weightage during the counseling process, potentially improving your chances slightly. Still, admission to Osmania University remains quiet Difficult.
Consider exploring other reputable engineering colleges in Telangana where the cutoff ranks for Civil Engineering are higher. Institutions such as Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, JNTU College of Engineering Sultanpur, and CVR College of Engineering have had closing ranks 70,000 in recent years .
