Are buying books of ncert necessary for neet or should I download them in my phone will be enough

chinchujoseph1993 24th Jan, 2021

Hello,

That is upto you. You can use the downloaded softcopy version or choose for a hard copy.

If you get a soft copy the advantage is that it won't get damaged, you do not have to carry around many heavy books but require just your phone, save a lot of money, etc.

But Personally I prefer hard copies, since that gives me a sense of completeness when I study.

So both options are good, if you do not want to spend so much money on books then a soft copy will be just fine.

The important thing is that you use the study material properly and study well

Good Luck

if I study only ncert of physics and give jee mains....can I get above 80+?

That will not be sufficient; nonetheless, it will assist you greatly. However, jee mains requests a little more than ncert, and the examination level is not easy. As a result, I recommend that you supplement your preparation with prior year's question papers and a test series. The Ncert of Physics will help you understand your concepts and build a solid foundation in physics.

how much can I score out of 300 by only doing ncert in nee Main?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 17th Jan, 2021
Hello,

Its very hard to say how much you would be able to score in JEE mains by just preparing from NCERTs.
See, NCERTs are very important, infact they are the base, but you cannot secure good marks and ranks just by reading ncert because the questions in examination are very twisted and actually quite tough. So, you will have to study and solve questions from advance books if you want to score well.
Atleast complete some important books like HC Verma and DC Pandey for Physics, TMH Publications or Arihant Publications for Mathematics and P Bahadur and RC Mukhergee for Chemistry.

I hope this helps.

How much would you score in the neet 2021 if you just prepare from the syllabus of 12 Ncert for physics and chemistry & just biology from both 11 & 12 std

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 10th Jan, 2021

Hi

The marks which you can get through only NCERT depends upon how well you have gone through it and it will vary from person to person depending upon their understanding of the concepts etc, in my personal experience if you go through just NCERT  you can get at least 500 + marks or more

Here's my personal  experience :-

I had appeared  in neet 2019 , but I hadn't  prepared  for it , I was in cbse board and was just  preparing  for my boards and for that I was using  only  ncert for biology and chemistry  and for Physics I was using  Sl Arora for theory along with ncert .  I did well in boards :) got 90.2 % but neet ? Ended up with just 520 marks  in neet and couldn't get a seat
Biology :- 280 marks
Chemistry :- 124 marks
Physics  :- 116 marks

So , one can easily  score  at least  500+ if goes well through  ncert .

While  giving  neet I realised  three things  :-

*ncert biology is enough for neet ,no need to read anything  else but why I just got 280 ? I had never  practiced mcqs as was just preparing  for boards , and also I hadn't  studied  ncert  from  mcqs point of view , for that you need to go thoroughly  through each and every  line  of ncert

*Chemistry  :- Again , nothing  was out of the box  or ncert . But I didn't remember many concepts of class 11th  and few questions had lengthy calculations.

* Physics :- Except for 6-7 questions , all were formula based. Nothing  very  tricky. You just need to have good command over the formulas and should have good speed

So, where does ncert lack ?

* it doesn't  have questions as per neet pattern
* it doesn't have mcqs .
* Many topics are difficult  to understand.

Also , In neet exam there's  180 questions  and you get 180 minutes  means only 1 minute for 1 question . So , practising  mcqs becomes very  important.

So, to score well you can follow given below books which are listed below subject wise

PHYSICS :-

*NCERT Physics textbooks for Class XI and XII

*Objective Physics for neet By DC Pandey :- it has MCQs and numericals as per Neet examination pattern and level

CHEMISTRY :-

*NCERT Chemistry textbooks for Class XI and XII :- Ncert chemistry is really good for Neet, go through all the solved examples, intext questions and exercise questions

* Mtg NCERT at your fingertips for chemistry :- it has chapter wise quick recap or short notes, and topic wise MCQs are there aligned with NCERT etc

BIOLOGY

*NCERT Biology Class XI and Class XII "- Master it as around 98 % questions in neet biology are directly based on ncert .

*NCERT at your fingertips by mtg :- best for practicing MCQs for your neet

*Trueman biology :- good for understanding topics which are difficult to understand from NCERT

Also go through Neet Previous year chapter wise book by Arihant for each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and once you are done with the complete syllabus go through mock test paper.

How can I read class 11th and 12th chemistry ncert in one day?

chinchujoseph1993 9th Jan, 2021

Hello,

Reading the entire two books, including solving the exercises, in one day will be difficult and moreover you will not be able to understand and study the topics well.

Instead I would suggest you to take time and read each of the chapters, understanding the topics well. While studying the subjects make sure you keep note of important points and equations in a separate book. This will be useful later when you want to revise the subject in one day, as you can then just go through these notes.

Hope this was helpful

Good Luck

Hello Aspirant,

See NCERT is the basic and must read book if your are either preparing for NEET or for your boards because the complete syllabus for NEET examination is based on it. Now MTG Fingertips is a good book for final practice but if you have not yet completed your syllabus from NCERT at least then I would not recommend you to go with this book for any of the three subjects but yes if you have completed your complete syllabus of NEET 2021 from NCERT then you can go with it for your practice. However for your reference I am also enlisting down some best practice books for NEET which needs to be considered for your preparation along with MTG Fingertips :-

do ncert and cbsce books are same

Priyanka Dasgupta 16th Sep, 2025

National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is a government organisation that publishes and distributes textbooks and other study materials.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the governing body that sets the curriculum, conducts the examination, and recommends guidelines to set a standard for all the schools affiliated. The schools follow NCERT books to maintain uniformity and quality of education.

Therefore, CBSE and NCERT books are not the same; however, they are related to each other.

Anurag Khanna 2nd Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See as we know NEET is the national level entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and other medical courses, so being the national level entrance exam the competition is also high and preparation to crack NEET with good marks should also be of that extent. So as you have mentioned that in your college on VCERT Books are considered so it is the good thing because NCERT Books are the primary resource for NEET Preparation and if you focus completely on NCERT then all concepts will be cleared to you but yes we also know only by learning concept we cannot sit in such national level entrance exams, we need to have some hands-on practice for the concept based questions as well, so apart from the study material you have , I am enlisting down some best books to get the hands-on practice of the topics from Physics, Chemistry and Biology :-

@Physics
