do i need residential certificate for NEET registration

Sajal Trivedi 13th Jul, 2022

Hello aspirant,

By meeting the state NEET 2022 domicile requirements, candidates who pass the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) can enrol in private institutions and state-funded seats. 85 percent of the state quota from each government medical and dental college would be made available to NEET applicants from the state of residence. While 15% of seats at government colleges would go to those who meet the All India Quota (AIQ) requirements. For all seats in private institutions, NEET UG counselling will also be conducted by the state counselling organisations.

Can I give 2nd attempt for NEET after 3 year or 4 year gap .? And, Do I require the 1st attempt score for 2nd attempt NEET registration..??

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 20th Jun, 2022

Hi

Yes you can definitely give examination of neet for the second time or for that matter any number of time

No ,you don't need your first attempt score or anything like that.

This is because,

There's no attempt limit for Neet examination it means one can appear for Neet as number of times as he wants ,moreover there is no upper age limit

For your reference,

Here's the eligibility criteria for NEET :-

-------------------) Qualification required :-As per Neet eligibility to be eligible one must be either appearing for 12th board examination  or should have passed 12th board examination from any recognised board with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English as core subject.

†††Important Note :- Students with Biology as an additional subject are also provisionally eligible for neet until Supreme Court gives its judgement over it.

-------------------)  Percentage required :- You must get

  • at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category

  • at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

-------------------)  Age limit :-

  • Lower age limit:- to be eligible for neet  one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December in the year of appearing for the examination .

  • Upper age limit :-There's no upper age limit for NEET. Earlier there was upper age limit  of 25 years which was pending in supreme court, on 9th march 2022 NMC in its notice has removed upper age limit. For details about it checkout :- https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-number-of-attempts-and-age-limit

--------------------) There's no attempt limit for neet.

Maam I filled General category during my class 10 and class 12 examination but my mom is Obc- ncl So I have filled Obc category in my neet registration. Will there be any problem during counseling process if they think why i have chosen unreserved during board examination and now obc for neet?

Subhalaxmi Biswal 4th Jun, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

An individual can apply for an OBC certificate only if the yearly earnings of the family are less than eight lakh Indian rupees per annum. If it were surplus than the provided figure, you would not be receiving the non-creamy category certificate. (Income from agriculture/farming is not included in this). You have mentioned that your mother has an obc-ncl certificate. But if your father and mother's income exceeds 8 Lakh then you are not eligible. Moreover, you need to have an obc-ncl certificate to avail reservation or else you will be considered as a general candidate only. If your mom is a single mother and her income is the only household income then you are eligible. In both cases, you need a valid obc-ncl certificate. If persons either the mother or father, is a part of the central government or is serving under Group C and Group D categories under the central government, then you are eligible to apply for the non-creamy OBC certificate. If a women’s husband is assigned under the Central Government, then every woman would be desirable to apply for the certificate provided that her parents do not earn any kind of income.

Regards.

Im currently in para medical course 3rd year V semester. Does it affect my NEET registration or addmission.?? Can I write my exam in another city , ( exam city preference) .?

Shriwam Shrivastav 20th Jun, 2022
Hi Aspirant

Greetings

No, your ongoing diploma course would not affect the NEET registration. You just need to manage time for studying for both the exams.

The eligibility criteria for NEET entrance exam is 10+2 from a well recognised board in Physics Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology.

The percentage requirement for NEET entrance exam in PCB is as followed:

UR/EWS- 50%
OBC/SC/ST- 40%
UR(PH)- 45%

You can attempt the NEET exam while doing any course, later while taking admission in medical college you need to take the transfer certificate and other required documents from previous college.

Hope this information will help you

Hello Aspirant,

See class 11th details are optional and even if you do not fill it or fill 00 in every column then also it will be accepted, so it is better you leave it as it is if you don't have class 11th details.

As you are preparing for NEET 2022 for which around 2-3 months are left from now so now you should practice previous year's question papers and sample papers as many as you can because it will enhance your self-confidence and time management skill
