if one has done b.tech after diploma, can he join NTPC ?
NTPC is a Public Sector Undertaking(PSU ) that hires engineering graduates usually through GATE entrance examination or by conducting its own separate exam in case of vacancy.
To apply for GATE, final year ngineering student and already graduated engineering students can apply. The candidate needs to provide graduation certificate at the time of hiring.
NTPC does not discriminate between lateral entry(diploma + engineering) students and regular engineering students. The only requirement is to secure a good rank in GATE, have no backlogs and provide relevant certificates that the organisation may ask for at the time of hiring.
To conclude, yes you can apply for NTPC even if you are a lateral entry engineering student . The focus should be more on securing a good rank as the number of vacancies is usually pale in comparison to the number of applicants.
does salary of diploma trainee increases from time to time in NTPC ?
As of now consolidated stipend for diploma trainees in NTPC is Rs. 15500/- per month.
3 rd pay revision has been done, now the basic pay of diploma holder is 24000,and salary will be around 35k.

Hey Ankit,
Its not about you are 21 and have done nothing.
Its about what next and what more you can do.
As you questioned about preparing for government exams...so i would stop why you are still thinking go for it....!!
I bet you, when you will start you will come across different government exams which you didn't knew and you will thank me.
All the best....!!
I am not getting really very depressed 21 old, Yesterday saw that govt is not taking Ssc,Ntpc exams which indicates future of Indian youth is in dange,&in this difficult situation i am 21&still have not started anything, i am really scared not able to sleep also. i am late to start Sbi being weak?
Hey dear, i understand your problem during this situation. I would advice you not to panic about anything, just keep focusing on your goal and keep hustling for it. After some time everthing will be normalized and you can attempt your desired exams. So, stay focused to your goal and don't overthink.
