SCOPE OF NUCLEAR ENGINEERING-

The Indian government is taking up all possible steps to increase installed nuclear capacity and use it for the production of power also as the present government is aiming to provide power to all households by 2022. Nuclear engineers are engaged in the designing, construction as well as the operation of nuclear reactors. They play a vital role in determining how radiation and radioactive materials could be used for industrial, medical and scientific purposes. Nuclear engineers play an important role in designing and creating the processes, instrumentation, equipment and systems that contain nuclear materials used in different kinds of industries. Nuclear engineers are increasingly employed to oversee the construction of nuclear power plants and ensure that the nuclear reactor being correctly installed. They also see that nuclear fuel is loaded properly.

Hello Diganta,

As per Indian convention of education you have to start B.Tech from the begining. You can also do an M.Sc in Physics and then apply for an M.Tech in your preferred branch of engineering through GATE exam.

Note that to gain admissions into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, you need to qualify JEE Advanced with a very high rank, preferably in the top 2000 in the country among 2.5 lakh students. 

 

The first stepping stone is JEE Mains. After qualifying JEE Mains, you are eligible to write JEE Advanced, which when you qualify with high rank, will give you an IIT seat.

Which course offered become a nuclear engineering

Jawaharlal technological university offers M.TECH in nuclear engineering. It is two year full time course. The admission is offered based on GATE score. 

University doesn't have nuclear engineering in undergraduate.

You can study nuclear engineering after completion of graduation. Btech degree from a recognized university is the minimum eligibility criteria to take admission in nuclear engineering.

The aspiration of making future in Nuclear Engineering is itself a golden opportunity to have a bright future. A Nuclear Engineer is well endorsed with experimental and theoretical studies of fusion and plasma physics, radioisotope applications, computer-aided tomography, reactor safety studies, and heat transfer in nuclear sub-systems.

Also, a nuclear engineer can get a job in the electric power plant, nuclear fuels, medicines etc. For future studies, you can refer Research and Development field work. So, the scope of Nuclear Engineering is very high, as the world is seeking nuclear as a renewable energy source.
