In Merchant navy, as of now there is no pension on any rank .

But we can expect in near future it might happen.

As of now they get salary on term of the contract basis with the company they are employed in.

As the 7th pay commision has been approved and for this reason, there is a huge hike in salary for the IFS officers. So, candidates who secure a job as an IFS officer in India will be awarded various perks . Apart from this, the Indian Government also provides  Special Foreign Allowances for the candidates who are posted out of the country.

Junior Time Scale – The officers will join as “Under Secretary” and the will range from 8000 to 14000/-

Senior Time Scale – The officers will join as “Under Secretary” and the salary will be around 10650 to 16000/-

Junior Administrative – The officers will join as “Deputy Secretary” and the salary will range from 12,750 to 17000/-

Selection Grade – The officers will join as “Counselor Director” and the salary will be around 15,100 to 18,500/–

The officer at Senior Administrative level will join as a “Joint Secretary” and the salary will be around 18,400 to 22,500/-

Officer at High Commissioner or Ambassador level will work as “Foreign Secretary” and they would not receive any grade pay.

The definition of Economically Weaker section clearly says that the candidate's annual family income must be less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum and their family must not own more than 5 acres of agriculture land. Also the residential flat area should be below 1000 square ft. And if all of these details are true an verified at the time of issue of certificate then the EWS is valid. So if fall in income is verified at the time of EWS issue then it's good to go.

Company secretaries mostly work with the private firms and companies, and there is no provision of pension in almost all the private companies, so it can be said that in a general scenario, company secretaries will not get pensions.
