Is petrochemical branch is good? Because l want to take admission in it for BE engineering

Udit 28th Jun, 2018
Hello seeman, every branch is good and every branch is bad. Coz it totally depends upon your interest in a particular field of engg. If you love dealing with computer stuff you'll good with CS branch whereas CS branch could be a burden for some other person if he/she has no interest in computer related stuff.
So ask yourself do you really want to go for petrochemical branch ? Are you really interested in petrochemicals?
If yes then nothing would be better than this. If no then look something of your interest.

Parthib Basu 18th Jun, 2018

Hi Amal,

It totally depends on your interests, which field you want to choose. Quality Control can be a good one though. The job prospects are enormous with great packages at Oil Refineries.

Thank you and best of luck.

vishnu gvv 19th Jun, 2018

Hi Vijay Kumar,

Yes, Petroleum Engineering is the number one area of research at the University of Stavanger. The tradition goes back to the early 1970s when Stavanger became the undisputed oil capital of Norway, a status it has held since. The first master students in petroleum engineering graduated in Stavanger at the same time as the first oil production in Norway started.
