I have 63 in english, 45 in mathematics, 66 in physics, 54 in chemistry in class 12th , can I eligible for amueee btech entrance exam ?

Nikita shahi 23rd Jul, 2025

Hello,

Thanks for your question it’s important to clarify eligibility before applying to a competitive exam like AMUEEE for B.Tech at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

So here’s a clear breakdown:

According to AMU’s latest eligibility rules for the AMUEEE entrance exam, you should have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as your core subjects and scored at least 50% aggregate in these three subjects combined.

Now, let’s calculate your eligibility based on your marks.

Your PCM average = (45 + 66 + 54)/3 = 55%, which means you are eligible.

Just make sure there are no individual subject minimums or board-specific conditions. Also, double-check the latest year’s AMUEEE prospectus because sometimes rules may vary slightly.

Good luck with your application!

What will be better, BSc (Hons) Physics in LPU or BSc (Hons) Geology in UPES?

Shubham Jha 14th Jun, 2025

Dear student,

Choosing between B.Sc. (Hons) Physics at LPU and B.Sc. (Hons) Geology at UPES depends mainly on your interests and career goals.

If you're inclined towards a broader science field with opportunities in research, data science, academics, or government exams, then Physics at LPU is a solid choice. LPU offers strong lab infrastructure, international exposure, and decent placements—with a reported median package of Rs. 7.25 LPA in 2023, which is impressive for a B.Sc. program. The campus life and flexibility to switch fields later are added advantages.

On the other hand, if you’re genuinely interested in earth sciences, environmental studies, or working in sectors like oil, gas, or mining, then Geology at UPES is worth considering. UPES is known for its strong industry links and practical orientation in energy and environmental domains. While detailed placement stats for geology aren't always published, UPES generally has decent industry engagement, especially in its core sectors.

In short:

  • Go for LPU Physics if you want flexibility, diverse career options, or aren't yet fixed on a specific industry.

  • Choose UPES Geology if you’re passionate about fieldwork, natural sciences, and want to enter resource-based industries.

Pick what aligns best with your interest—not just the brand or package. That’s what will matter in the long run.

Hello Everyone, I have scored the following marks in my 12th class. Physics - 48 ( Theory Practicals ) Chemistry - 46 ( Theory Practicals ) Bio - 64 ( Theory Practicals ) Am I eligible to give NEET ? And will MBBS colleges accept my admission with the above marks ? Do i qualify the MBBS admission criteria? Thank you in advance for answering my question.

OISHEE BANERJEE 13th Jun, 2025

Hello aspirant!

Thanks for sharing your marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Based on the details you gave, here’s a simple breakdown regarding your NEET eligibility and MBBS admission chances.

To be eligible for NEET, the basic rule is that you must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually in Class 12, and secured at least 50% marks in PCB combined for the General category. For OBC, SC, or ST category students, the minimum required is 40% in PCB subjects taken together.

Your subject-wise marks are:

  • Physics – 48

  • Chemistry – 46

  • Biology – 64

When we add them up:
PCB total = 48 + 46 + 64 = 158 out of 300, which is around 52.6%.

So yes, you are eligible to appear for NEET, and you also meet the minimum eligibility criteria for MBBS admission, assuming you’ve passed English and are from the General category. If you belong to a reserved category, your score is even safer.

That said, just being eligible is one thing—getting admission to an MBBS college will depend completely on your NEET score and rank. Government medical colleges usually require much higher NEET marks due to high competition, but private colleges or deemed universities might have lower cutoffs (though the fees are usually higher).

So yes, you can give NEET and your marks do qualify you for MBBS admission as per the eligibility rules. Your preparation for NEET will decide your real chances.

Wishing you all the best in your preparation!

MIT vs Caltech for physics research

Shubham Jha 10th Jun, 2025

Dear student,

Both MIT and Caltech are top-tier for physics, but they offer different environments:

Caltech is smaller and highly focused on physics. It has a tight-knit community, low student-to-faculty ratio (3:1), and almost all students get involved in hands-on research early—especially through programs like SURF . It’s especially strong in theoretical physics , astrophysics , and space science , and it’s closely tied to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab . If you want close mentorship and a deep dive into physics from the start, Caltech is ideal.

MIT is much bigger and offers more variety in physics subfields and interdisciplinary research—like combining physics with engineering , CS , or energy . It has major research centers like the MIT Lincoln Lab and Media Lab , and students can also take Harvard courses. It’s great if you want flexibility, broader options, and a vibrant campus life with tons of clubs and activities.

In short :
Choose Caltech for intense, focused physics in a smaller, more personal setting.
Choose MIT for broader opportunities, more interdisciplinary paths, and a larger, more dynamic environment.

I want to go to Delhi University my biology is very good I appear for all 5 bio, chemistry , english., physics and gat I want to take bsc in biochemistry or other is also fine I just want college of du but if my marks come poor then can I get because my bio is very strong I give all exam but I am not sure of others

Samriddha Pal 4th Jun, 2025

Hello,

Even if you haven't scored well in your 12th, you can still consider your CUET score. Anyone who wants to study at DU will have to appear for CUET. DU considers CUET score for admission. So, you still have a chance if your CUET score is good. Don't worry.

Hope this helps. All the best!
