Can Msc physics students apply for the position of scientist using equivalent qualification

gopi 1st Jun, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Yes, M.Sc. Physics students may apply for the post of Scientist as long as they meet the requisite eligibility criteria mentioned in the job notification. M.Sc. Physics has been equivalently considered for Scientist posts in many research institutions, government organizations (such as ISRO, DRDO, BARC, etc), and in private R&D, especially in fields such as materials science, nuclear physics, theoretical physics, space science, etc.

However, eligibility may differ from organization to organization and there may also be varying specializations specific to certain disciplines. Therefore, it is very important to read and check the official notification from the organization and see if M.Sc. Physics is mentioned under the qualifications or equivalent to that position you are applying for.

Does the marks of Practical exams of Physics and chemistry in boards are considered for Grouping criteria of MHT CET councelling

Tanisha chaudhary 31st May, 2025

HEY THERE!!!

  1. Practical exam marks from Physics and Chemistry board exams are not taken into account for grouping criteria during MHT CET counselling.
  2. These particular marks simply do not factor into the tie-breaking process.
  3. The grouping and tie-resolution process relies solely on scores obtained in the MHT CET itself.

I am in cambridge board and doing A level can I appear for IIT .. how todeal wtih 5 subject criteria as I had taken english physics chemistry and maths

Samriddha Pal 29th May, 2025

Hello,

The minimum Subject Requirement (as per NTA/JEE Advanced), you must have passed your Class 12 (or equivalent) examination with at least five subjects, including:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • One language (usually English)
  • Any one additional subject (e.g., Computer Science, Biology, Economics)

But you have only 4 subjects so, you will need to take one more A-level or AS-level subject to meet the 5-subject criterion.

Hope this helps. All the best!

my obc rank is 13919,can i get msc integrated physics in nit warangal (female quota and home state)

kumardurgesh1802 28th May, 2025

Hello Radhika,

With an OBC rank of 13,919 under the Home State female quota, your chances of getting admission in the Integrated M.Sc. Physics program at NIT Warangal look possible based on previous year cutoffs, as the closing rank was much higher.

However, the seat availability for female-only seats in this program under the Home State quota may be limited or not specifically reserved. This could affect your chances despite a good rank.

Overall, your rank is competitive, but due to seat restrictions for female candidates in this program, admission is not guaranteed. It is a good idea to also consider other colleges or similar courses as backup options.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

In Jee advanced exam if an SC candidate gets 5 marks in physics, 21 marks in mathes, 14 marks in chemistry will he qualify?

Vasundhra 27th May, 2025

Dear Candidate,
Based on your scores in JEE Advanced 2025 examination - 5 marks in Physics , 21 marks in Mathematics, and 14 marks in Chemistry - your total aggregate in 40 marks out of 360.
-JEE Advanced 2025 Qualifying Criteria for SC Category
-Minimum Percentage of marks in each subject - 5%
-Minimum aggregate percentage - 17.5 %.
Unfortunately, you do not meet the qualifying criteria for the SC Category in JEE Advanced 2025 , as your scores fall short in both the Physics subject and the aggregate marks required.

I had chosen physics n english by mistake in cuet ug.. What kinda courses can I get like ba for eng n bsc for physics?? And do I need to score overall or just in physics if I wanna get bsc physics??

kumardurgesh1802 25th May, 2025

Hello there,

If you have chosen Physics and English in CUET UG, you can apply for courses related to those subjects, such as:

  • For Physics : B.Sc. (Physics), B.Sc. (Physical Sciences), or related science courses.

  • For English : B.A. (English), B.A. (Literature), or related arts/humanities courses.

To get admission in B.Sc. Physics , universities usually consider your overall CUET score rather than just the Physics section score. However, some universities may give weightage to subject-specific marks, so it depends on the university’s admission criteria.

It is important to check the specific university’s guidelines for admission and cutoff details.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

I have completed BSc in the stream of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science in 2023 but now I wanted to take up MSc in Forestry, is that possible.

Prachi Kumari 24th May, 2025

Hello,

Yes, it is usually possible to take MSc in Forestry after completing BSc in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. However, it depends on the university and their eligibility criteria.

Some universities may ask for a background in biology or related subjects, while others may allow admission based on your overall graduation and entrance test scores.

You should check the specific requirements of the universities you want to apply to. Sometimes, they may ask for a bridge course or some basic knowledge in forestry-related subjects before starting MSc.

So, it’s best to contact the admission office of the universities for clear guidance.

Hope it helps !
