Which is better civil or production engineering at mnnit allahabad?

rehan18alam Student Expert 25th Jun, 2019

Dear Aspirant,

Choice of brach depends upon your interest. If you like civil engineering and its aspects like building some infrastructure or if you are more into PWD jobs or you want to become a contractor then CIVIL engineering is good for you. There are, in fact, a lot of government jobs in CIVIL engineering. Chose CIVIL if you want government jobs in the future or if you want to open a construction company.

Production, on the other hand, is a rather new branch and is diversification of mechanical on one specific side. Production has a lot of jobs in private sectors in companies like HERO, ASHOK LEYLAND, etc. If you are interested in such things then go for production. Also, production has a lot of advantage in GATE - PSU jobs as competition is less than MECHANICAL.

So if you want to go to the GATE side or private jobs then go for production.

Hope this helps.

VSSUT burla , production engineering cutoff?

shwetasaini505_9233227 Student Expert 24th Jun, 2019
Hello Aspirant,

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology is a NAAC 'B' accredited university of government ownership.

The 2019 has not been released by the university yet so it is a little difficult to tell yiu the exact cut-off, however we can give you a rough estimate based in previous years' cut-off trends.

Previous years' cut-offs are also a factor in deciding the cut-off every year and upon analysis, we found that the cut-off for Production Engineering at VSSUT goes upto 2 Lakh rank, i.e., people with ranks above 2 lakh have also gotten admission here. So your aim should be to get a rank below 2 Lakh to ensure your admission.

The other factors that affect the cut-off are-

  • Numver of candidates appearing in exam
  • Difficulty level of exam
  • Performance of students in the exam
  • Numver of seats available

You can get all the details about this college in the below link-

Hope this helps.

Is production engineering is good in nit trichy..?

Satyam Student Expert 21st Jun, 2019

See production engineering will always be considered less than mechanical. What all say is that production is mechanical-thermo.

And studying production in NIT TRICHY. In first thought we will think that it is nit trichy obviously it will be good. But it is not good especially if you want placement after btech. It is worse there. You will never be considered equal to your mechanical friends and this is a bitter truth.

So think wisely, if you want to persue higher education then you can go else look for other branches.

Thank you.

B tech in production engineering in IIT Delhi is good?

Dhruv Anurag 17th Jun, 2019

Greetings to you,

IIT Delhi is one of the top colleges for engineering in the nation. Each of its branch has been significantly good with the overall curriculum and placements. Since it is one the best, the core companies for production engineering do visit the college for internships and final job placements. Being an IIT student gives you a fair advantage over other non-IIT students. So if you do not have a specific branch preference, I would sincerely suggest you to go for production engineering in IIT Delhi.

I have got a drop in my final semester of BE production engineering.Am i eligible to get admission in German University ?

Mille Sharma 15th Jun, 2019

Hey Ashu!

You are surely eligible for admission in German universities, however, different universities have different criterias for determining your eligibility; depending on the college you are planning to apply to. Hence, it is advised to visit the college's (in which you are planning to apply to) website and check the same.

Your GRE and IELTS score shouldn't be a problem but the college authorities might ask for the reason behind that drop or you can include the reason in your application as well, as an additional note, to give them an insight into your situation and so that it isn't reflected badly on you and your application, if you have a genuine reason behind that.

For more information regarding German universities, it's requirements for studying there and the eligibility criteria of different colleges, you are advised to visit the following link: https://www.daad.de/en/

Hope this helps. All the best!

What is the difference between production engineering and mechanical engineering? Give me the scope of both the engineering.

Naman Jain 27th Apr, 2019
Hey,

Production is an important aspect in any industry and with the rapidly expanding industrial sector looking to plug the demand and supply gap for skilled professionals, the employment potential for talented mechanical engineers is quite high in both the private or public sector industries. As a B Tech mechanical you have the option of dealing with design and production of tools, machines and all other mechanical equipment to be used in industries. A mechanical engineer can work and handle all types of machinery in industries and all aspects of their mechanism and functioning; he is also into the design, development, construction, production, installation, operation and maintenance; such as large steam and gas turbines, components of thermal power stations, internal combustion engines, jet engines, machine tools, air conditioning and heating machines, refrigerators etc to name a few. Mechanical Engineers are also responsible for maintenance and repair of the devices. A bulk of mechanical engineering jobs are in manufacturing mostly in machinery, transportation equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation, and fabricated metal product industries.
Both have scopes for placement in their respective fields.

Hope this solves your query.

Good Luck!!

I got 169066 rank in generalCRL in jee mains 2019 will I get cot pantnagar in production engineering.

Gokul Menon 25th May, 2019

According to last year's cutoff for general category was upto 82000 in COT pantnagar.

in addition to that it also depends upon the domicile of the student , if other state student are appearing they generally don't make it to the cut-off with 1lac rank, though for females they relax ranks upto lacs. Hope for the best meanwhile look for other options.
