PSU
coming to ECE and EEE half of the syllabus is same and most of the subjects are considered as electrical core subjects like analog, digital electronics ,signals, networks etc.
Now coming to PSU jobs are more ~ 1000/year and for ECE even 200/year is difficult.(just for comparison) . Coming to central govt jobs are more in EEE very very less in ECE around ratio of 1:20/1: 50 and sometime there might be vacancies.
In short advantages EEE - more govt jobs, central jobs, core companies, psu’s , IES vacancies, state govt jobs, power plant jobs with moderate competition compare to ECE. Only advantage of ECE is moderate chances in every field (IT, Core, Govt, PSU, IES).

Hello Vinit,

The Government and psu Jobs for EE students are
These are Jobs For ECE students Compare to EE students
And All these Jobs Will get based on your GATE Scores
Hope You Understand
Both Electronic and communication engineering (ECE) and Electrical engineering are best branches of engineering. They open up a large number of opportunities to build career.
In private sector, the scope of ECE is more than Electrical engineering. In contrast, the number of vacancies available to Electrical engineers is more than vacancies available for ECE engineers. ECE engineers have more prospects in the IT sector. Though this is almost same for Electrical but is lesser.
Now considering PSUs recruitment, Electrical Engineering has more prospects then ECE. Compared to ECE the number of vacancies arising for PSU is more for Electrical engineering than for ECE engineers( Just for comparison we can say if Electrical has 1000 vacancies then ECE qill have around 200 or 300. Although scope of ECE is rising it is less even now.

hello aspirant,
no gate is not necessary to get into psu. only those jobs in whose notifiaction they give us wlike recrutement through gate will give us job through gate. evert year some govt jobs recute through gate some takes their own objectives , conventional exam or or personal interview for selection of candidates .
many psu like ,ONGC , IOCL, NTPC, BPCL, HPCL ,POWER GRID , SAIL, EXIL takes through gate.
many exam like DRDO,NPCIL,INSTITUTE OF PLASMA RESEARCH SELECT STUDENTS for interview through gate score and final selection is only based on interview marks.
engineering services exam is having its own pre, mains and interview for selecting the candidates.
many state takes their own state psc for assistant engineer or sdo post.
so the fact is if some one has good score in gate then he has lots of opportunity for having a good job in psu .but if some one is not having a good gate score or want to have some state jobs or in post like assistant executive engineer through ese have many other paths.
so keep going world is not going to stop if there is no gate there are other paths which bring you great opportunities.
best of luck.
