PSU
See if you clear the GATE Electrical paper then obviously you are eligible for the PSU but you need to have satisfy the qualification eligibility as asked by the PSU you are applying in. At this moment, if you search for the basic qualifications of most of the psu then there are no such eligibility conditions through which you can apply. So its better for you to pursue your MTech in a more broader field and then you can apply for jobs or postitions. Although Mechatronics is a vast subject and there are need of such engineers in different sectors such as Air Force,Aircraft Engineering, Oceanography, Oil and Gas etc. So there are chances for you to get chances in Mechanical Engineering related field of expertise. So its better for you to qualify GATE MECHANICAL than Electrical. That way you may get scope in PSU who have eligibility criteria of Mechanical Engineering.

Hi Aspirant,
All the three PSU, ESE as well as campus placement are good for you. For campus placement, it all depends on the company and their eligibility criteria and also the job position.
Now coming to PSU and ESE, you have a really great opportunity in these two especially ESE has more number of seats for mechanical engineers. You can use PwD(Person with Disability) Reservation Policy. The Government of India provides PwD reservation for government jobs under the provisions of Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 1995. Under this policy, 3% of all vacancies in government jobs in Group A, B, C and D; that are to be filled through direction recruitment are reserved for persons with disabilities.
Hope this is helpful to you.
Good Luck!!!!
hi,
see in gate 2022 latest website information, there is no gate paper on mechatronics engineering. you may take any of the paper available to appear in gate 2022 irrespective of your undergraduate b.tech stream.
now coming to the use of gate score, gate score is mostly accepted for admission to m.tech course, psu hiring. however mechatronics engineering is quite new stream and according to past few years data available on psu hiring less or none vacancy for mechatronics engineer.
however by appearing in gate exam from the mechanical or cse or ece stream as per your choice you may be able to do m.tech and then get job in campus placement in relevant discipline.
see gate score is valid to admission in m.tech or get work opportunity at psu. However the cutoff score for public sector undertakings varies with the factors like number of applicant, questions difficulty level of gate, number of vacancy etc. however it is difficult to suggest that securing 50+ or around 50 will secure your job at psu. psu hiring includes stages of selection process like group discussion, written test/ Personal interview rounds.
so my suggestion is study harder , give your best and secure marks as much as possible.
follow our article for gate exam related details at below link:
see every organization has their own criteria and it would be mentioned in the recruitment notifications once the vacancy updates available. so you have to check the eligibility criteria and apply only when the requisite pwd status eligible for you.
hope you get my point.
You can get Public Sector Jobs like Scientific Assistant, Laboratory Technician, and Technical Assistant after doing Msc Botany. Other options include Research Fellow, Project Fellow, and Assistant Professor (in public sector). You can also go in fields of lecturer or teaching assistant.
Hello aspirant,
There is no GATE paper code for Mechatronics. You can either apply for Mechanical Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering to apply for the GATE exam. The paper code for both of these is ME and EC respectively.
It makes more sense to apply for GATE ME than other subjects as you'll have to take double the effort to study and pass the exam. As you do not have a background in EE applying for PSUs might be difficult, because the minimum educational qualification related to the respective stream will be considered and asked for at the time of recruitment.
You might have better opportunities if you apply for the Mechanical Engineer post at PSU through your GATE score after clearing the ME paper code.
I hope this information helps!
Thank You!
Hello candidate,
It's unfair to compare two different jobs in areas on contrasting features because each of these jobs have a different life routine and require various different skills at professional level.
PSU jobs refers to public sector units job which generally comprises of companies such as oil and natural gas corporation, Bharat Petroleum, Indian oil corporation Limited, Steel authority of India, etc. and the job recruitment is mainly done on the basis of GATE examination followed by interview rounds.
The software companies on the other hand, require both professional as well as practical knowledge of the candidate and he must know briefly about coding skills and other technicalities related to that field.
Hope you found it informational!!
