If you have 1-2 years of experience, this is not a game-change. As the experience above 2 or actually 3 is considered. Also your experience may be valid if you have apt knowledge in it. There is no particular ‘sort of job’ which will help more than other jobs in gaining admission to the IIM’s. The important thing is that whatever kind of job you are doing, you should do it well. Your performance at the job should stand out so that you have some success to show for the time you spend at the job. So this is the criteria for a work experience gained student.
Also the weight age is not much in all MBA institutes as some may consider the work experience and other institutes may not. You should remain confident about what has been done and your capabilities.
Hope this explains you.
Good luck.

I would say Btech in any form is a professional course and one level up than Bsc. Definitely colleges do matter. So I would say choose Btech if you have no specific interest otherwise go with what interests you.
Which degree are you asking for and mention your qualification at present?
