sir I am from General category but in neet score card I have two different rankings I.e., category rank and all India rank for counselling.. which rank should I consider while counselling as iam from general category

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 3rd Nov, 2021

Hi

In Neet examination your all India rank is considered for admission and not category rank .

DIFFERENCE  between AIR and category rank

The difference between all india rank and category rank is that all india rank  is overall rank while category rank represent your rank within the category you belong to.

For example,

Let's say that 100 students attended neet examination and you were one of them and got 80 th rank among those 100 students.

Out of those 100 students, 20 were general category student and you also belong to OBC category and let's assume that among those 20 students you scored that second highest marks then your general rank will be 2 .

Thus, in this case your all india rank or overall rank will be 80 while your general rank will be 2.
