Reasoning
Hello Aspirant,
As you have not mentioned any specific exam you are targeting , I assume you are generally speaking about competitive exams. From your question it seems like you were good at English and math but due to lack of practice you have become weak. So you need not worry, you can regain it by the lost practice. Before stepping into regular practice , you should brush up the basics in both English and math.For English start reading newspaper , articles, quality journals etc it will help you to tackle reading comprehension by increasing your reading speed and improving vocabulary. When you get English prep books you will be able to learn according to the latest question pattern. Try to converse in English to all family member and friends to improve fluency. Coming to quantitative aptitude, in most exams the syllabus is already what you have studied in school. So revisit all the basic concepts and formulas in all topics and start solving on a daily basis. Solve at least 100 questions daily. And finally , get a good mock test series of the exam which you wish to clear , and solve them to increase your speed and accuracy. You need not worry, you can improve anything with determination and practice.
All the best

Hey!
if a:b = c:d , then we write, a:b::c:d .
So, in this case, 10:990::3:x
we need to find x, by above condition
therefore, 10:990 = 3:x
means, 10/990 = 3/x
or, 1/99 = 3/x
or x = 99*3
therefore, by solving we get, x = 297
So, the missing number (x) is equal to 297.
10:990::3:297.
Hope it helps.
thankyou

See mathematics needs a lot of practice and reasoning needs a presence of mind which gradually develops due to practice. So I would recommend you to follow Quantitative Aptitude by RS AGGARWAL as well as Reasoning book written by the same.
The contents of the book are very good which will enhance your ability of problem solving. Follow the Previous question paper book by Arihant Publisher or any publisher so that you will get familiar to the pattern.
I hope my answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
