As NIMHANS is an institute of national importance, the reservation in admission is provided as per the Government of India reservation system. Candidates applying under the reserved category will have to submit the supporting issued by the competent government authority.
Relaxation & Concession in respect of Educational Qualification / Age / Experiences and Qualifying Marks/Standard etc. will be as per existing Government rules in all cases of admission, recruitments, appointments, promotions and other assignments of entitlements to the members of SC/ST. A total of 7% seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 15% for Scheduled Tribes, 27% for Social and Educational Backward Classes and 10% for EWS.

No, there is no reservation policy for Ph.D scholars at NIT Andhra Pradesh. However, the Institute intake students on the basis of several eligibility criteria for its Ph.D (Full-Time) Stipendiary Category, Ph.D (Full-Time) Project category, Ph.D (Part-Time) (Externally sponsored), Ph.D (Part-Time), M.S.
