Good morning,as you're asking sociology After Diploma + 12 Years Work Experience

Yes, you can study Sociology.

But your Options Depend on:

When you did your diploma:

After 12th → You can directly go for B.A. or even M.A. in Sociology.

After 10th → You may need to do Class 12 first (e.g., via NIOS), then pursue B.A. Sociology. Recommended Path (if diploma after 10th):

1. NIOS 12th (Flexible open schooling)

2. B.A. Sociology (e.g., IGNOU or regular university)

3. Optionally: M.A. Sociology later

Alternatives:

Short-term Certificate/Diploma courses in Sociology or Social Work (online or offline)

I have done graduation in hindi, political science, sociology, Can i do MA Psycology in hindi medium.

Chelsie G 23rd Jul, 2025

Yes, you can do MA Psychology even if your graduation was in Hindi, Political Science, and Sociology. Many universities allow students from any stream to apply for MA Psychology, as long as you meet their basic eligibility criteria. Since your background is in Arts, it won’t be a problem.

As for Hindi medium, very few universities offer MA Psychology fully in Hindi. Most teach it in English, especially the technical terms. However, you can check universities like IGNOU, Delhi University or some state universities in UP, MP, Bihar, and Rajasthan they sometimes provide support or partial materials in Hindi.

So yes, you're eligible to apply, but finding full Hindi medium teaching might take some research.

Hi Vedica,

With 589 marks, it is hard to get a BA (Law and Political Science), a BA (Hons) in Sociology, and a BA (Hons) in History in Tier 1 colleges of Delhi University's north campus and Tier 2 colleges of Delhi University. But you can expect admission to Tier 3 colleges.

You can also apply to universities, like
Banaras Hindu University (BHU)
Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi
Allahabad University

is there course for B.ED in sociology?

Nikita shahi 17th Jul, 2025
Hii,
Yes, there are many courses available for B.Ed in Sociology, and B.Ed programs across India offer Sociology as one of the teaching subjects, especially if you have studied Sociology during your bachelor's degree. Some well-known universities like Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Jamia Millia Islamia, and several state universities offer B.Ed programs where Sociology is accepted. These programs are for two years and include both theoretical coursework and practical teaching experience in schools. If you want to do B.ED through distance mode IGNOU also offers, and they too allow you to choose teaching subjects according to your graduation background. Before applying, it is important to check the university’s official B.Ed. Prospectus or guidelines. There, they clearly mention which subjects are allowed and what the eligibility criteria.
So, if you are someone who has  studied Sociology and has an interest in teaching, B.Ed is a great way to start your career in education. After completing B.Ed, you can appear for teaching eligibility tests like CTET or state TETs and apply for jobs in government and private schools.
Thank you!

Since your OBC and NCL certificates are not ready, you will likely be treated as a General category candidate during NCET counselling. Your scores are very strong, especially in Geography, Hindi, and Teaching Aptitude, so yes, you do stand a good chance under the General category as well. Keep all documentation ready and also mention your acknowledgment slip during counselling.
