what is the best way to study to remember everything in just first attempt?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 24th Jul, 2020

There is something called PATS Model in Psychology which the University of Toronto has published some time back.

  1. Picking the Best Environment for you to study: This is important because you should feel secure and comfortable but not too comfortable where you might fall asleep.
  2. Always reducing the visual distractions: Make sure you have nothing within your vicinity to distract you. Like keep your phone a side. Or sit away from the TV, Windows where you can see people.
  3. Try to Eliminate Noise around you: If you are someone who can concentrate with music, make sure it is light music and nothing to distract you. It should increase your ability to concentrate and not distract you. If there is any noise that might distract you, use ear plugs or a fan. Trust me, if am being distracted by noise, I switch on the fan and it works.
  4. Self talk to control Internal Distractions: When you are noticing that the mind is drifting aside, stop what you are upto and keep a checkmark on a piece of paper along with the time. Keep a track of these checkmarks and the timings. Talk to yourself that you understand you are being distracted but you also have to study. If it keeps bothering you, write down what is it that is bothering you and promise yourself that you will come back and look into that. Now that has been parked in the notebook, get back to studying.

Few tips you always need to remember are:

  • You need to be physically fit to be prepared for what is ahead of you.
  • Keep telling yourself that you can. That is important
  • Make sure you improve on the speed in solving sample papers and quizzes
  • Take online mock tests
  • Focus on accuracy and speed as well
  • Improve your concepts and focus on weaker areas
  • Short breaks between change of subjects is really important
  • Do not overstress yourself
  • Avoid oversleeping during the day but get adequate sleep
  • Dont get nervous.

For fashion study in India the best? Or somewhere abroad? And also, for taking admission abroad IELTS should be given. So should we start preparing from 11th in order to score good?

Ankita Grover 11th Aug, 2020

Hi

The fashion industry in India, just like in any other country is all about pattern making, garment construction, accessory designing, make-up artists, modelling, fabric weaving, textile research and development, fashion journalism/editorial, and manufacturing and what not.

Fashion designing is considered as one of the most exciting and demanded career options here. It’s not just academics, this course requires a deep passion for fabric, inner talents, styling and designing, and industrial exposure. Fashion designing colleges in India render the dual advantage of rich industrial exposure along with creative designing lessons which are of world-class standard. At this time of 'Self-Reliant India', we must be vocal about local and try to retain our best talent in the country.

Some of the top fashion designing institutes in India according to the NIRF rankings that you may seek:

  • National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi (NIFT, Delhi)
  • National Institute of Fashion Technology Mumbai- Some of the top recruiters here are Arvind Mills, Globes, Max. The placement trend ranges between 88-95 %. Highest package was INR 28 LPA and average being INR 7-8 LPA.
  • NIFT Bangalore
  • NIFT Chennai

Starting salary of an NIFT Alumni goes around INR 14-16 LPA. The institute enjoys 100 % placements every year, and companies come from all over the country for recruitment.

  • Pearl Academy Jaipur
  • Amity School of Fashion Technology
  • Symbiosis Institute of Design Pune

Private colleges are no less as they are able to provide 90 % placements with an average placement package of around INR 3-4 LPA. Some of the top brands that visit include Adidas, Max, Globus, Puma, etc.

Yes if you wish to pursue academics abroad in English speaking countries like Australia, UK, New Zealand, USA, and Canada, IELTS exam is required. Preparation of the same takes time and you must start as soon as you can.

Please note that IELTS is not compulsory in all university admissions. Many universities might not even require IELTS scores for admission purposes.

Hope I am able to solve your query.
