Hello Jayaprakash, you have a pretty decent score in TANCET, and on that you belong ot bc cateogry which is like icing on the cake. As per you question you have pretty good chance of getting into a SRM University, Chennai with the chance of branch you want to work on. But do keep some other as a backup plan. Goodluck.

Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have bachelor’s degree of three-year duration from any recognized college.

Subject: Candidates must have Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level.

Candidates should qualify the above examination as 10+2+3/4 years pattern Or 10+3 years diploma +3 years pattern Or 10+2+AMIE* Or 10+3 years  diploma  (awarded  by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE.*

Percentage Criteria: Must have secured 50% (45% for reserved categories).

Yes their is a negative marking in MCA 

The question paper will consist of 5 sections with a total of 100 questions. Time allotted to finish the exam is 2 hours and there will be negative marking as well as 1/3 marks will be deducted for shading multiple boxes.

I would like to tell you that every year a large number of students appear for TANCET exam, but the number of registrations is witnessed to have consistently decreased. 

In 2012, it was about  1,10,000 registrations but it has fallen to around 20,000 students in 2018.

TANCET is a very large scale exam, hence two types of marks- Raw Marks and Normalized Marks, are involved in preparing merit list. Raw marks are allotted for each section according to each correct/ incorrect answer. Normalized marks calculated using the raw marks. To find out normalized score from raw score, following formula is used in TANCET exam :
40 + (10/S) (R-M)
where M = Mean Marks or total marks obtained from the Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 divided by 3.
S = Standard deviation of Raw Marks
R = Raw Marks or total marks obtained from Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.
After generating merit list, TANCET cut off is prepared
