As for now you can pursue Work From Home Internships at Tata Steel, under the Tata Prashikshan Program right after your First Year till your Fourth Year. Try contacting any Employee, who can be your Sponsor for the Program besides helping yoy find a Project Guide. Its usually beneficial if the Guide is himself the Sponsor. In case you dont have any acquaintances in Tata Steel, you may use tools like Linkedin to find connections as well as your Insititute Alumini at Tata Steel and convince them to help you with the Tata Prashikshan Program. This is what I did myself being a Metallurgical Student last Winter.

As far as getting placed Off Campus is concerned, Tata Steel organizes a Tata Steel AET Examination, for recruiting Engineers for IL6 Assistant Engineer Trainee/Assistant Manager Post. You may prepare accordingly and appear for the Examination and Related Procedures like Interview, Etc.

Tata Motors gives the opportunity of hands on experience to students by offering internships. To apply for internships there are two ways: either by campus placement or by online application through website. If Tata motors visit your campus for interrnships then you must apply through that, but most of the colleges doesn't give this opportunity to 1st or 2nd year students. This is for 3rd or 4th year students. SO, you can apply by website, you can write them mail to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) Keep the subject as "Request for Application form". They will definitely revert you back with the application form. Fill out the form and do not forget to attach CV and cover letter. If you CV is good enough and you have good GPA then you will be selected for sure.

If you want to get placed in TATA Steel, there is no direct recruitment as such. Firstly you should hope that TATA Steel or TISCO visits you campus and if they will offer campus placement then they will conduct an entrance exam followed by interview.
Of you want to do internship with them then you can apply through their official website.
Open their website and scroll to the end, you will see "Careers" option, click on that you will see option for internship. You can upload your resume and just hope for a response.
