The master of science in fashion designing is a 2-year PG level program for students who have already completed a UG program in a related field.
Masters of Science in Textile Designing
Eligibility for the course is available to those who have earned a BSc degree in textile designing or a similar field and have obtained a minimum mark of 50%. There is a possibility that the entrance exam, along with PI and GD, will be conducted by institutes such as IGNOU, TNOU, etc.

MSc Textile Designing is available through distance education with a fee structure nearly ranging from of INR 20,000 to 2 LPA.
Many state or government-owned colleges or universities offer MSc Textile Designing, including IGNOU, TNOU, and JMI.

Students with an MSc Textile Designing degree can make their positions in diversified fields. They can be employed as Fashion Buyers, Fashion Consultants, Retail Managers, and alike with annual salaries ranging from INR 2 to 10 LPA.
Few colleges offering the course in distance education are :
Allahabad State University, kakatiya University, Annamalai University, Kalinga University, Jaipur National University, kurukshetra University, Lovely professional University.

the syllabus for the exam paper of Msc. specialization in clothing and textiles includes,

Paper - 1 Textile Chemistry and Processing of Textiles

Paper - 2 Woven fabric structures and fabric analysis

Paper - 3 Knitting technology

Paper - 4 Laundry science & care of fabric

Practical exam will be based upon the above papers.

i applied for msc textiles and apparel designing.... And my form is successfully submitted...i have done B.FAD ( bachelor of fashion and apparel design) 4 year degree program from kurukshetra University.....so am i eligible for this course ..... plz give my answer...thankyou.

Hi,

The eligibility criteria for students to study Msc course in Textiles & apparel designing is that the candidate should have a Bsc degree in a similar course with a minimum aggregate of 55% from a recognized institute & at least a year experience in the same field.

So, in your case you have a Bsc degree in Apparel design so this will work & if you have got 55% or more in your graduation then you can easily apply for pursuing Msc course in any institute.
