Hi aspirant,
In order to be eligible for the Union Public Services Civil services examination a candidate needs to be age between 21 to 32 years with some relaxation for reserved categories. The relaxation is provided on the upper age limit and number of attempts so it is not relevant to your case in irrespective of your category. Following that you would be eligible for examination in year 2023 as the cut-off date is taken to be 1st August and by that you will match the minimum requirement.

You are not eligible for upsc exam this year. You can appear for it in 2027 .

See as per your Date of Birth, in August 2023 you will be approx. 32 years but will not complete 32 years so you would be considered as eligible for your last attempt of UPSC i.e. UPSC 2023 because the age limit for UPSC IAS exam is 21 year to 32 year and in November 2023 you will complete 32 years so you will be no more eligible for it until and unless you are from some reserved category with following age relaxation as per the reservation criteria of UPSC :-

>>>> SC/ ST - 5 years
>>>> Defense Services Personnel, who got disabled during operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence - 3 years
>>>> Ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers (CO) and ECOs/ SSCOs who will render at least five years Military Service as of August 1, 2021, and have been released - 5 years
ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service as of 1st August 2021 - 5 years
>>>> In the following cases: blindness and low vision, deaf and hard of hearing, locomotor disability including acid attack, cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, victims and muscular dystrophy, intellectual disability, autism, specific learning disability and mental illness - 10 years
>>>> Candidates ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir from January 1, 1981, to December 31, 1989. - 5 years
>>>> So as per the age criteria you are eligible for UPSC IAS exam 2023 because the candidate should have crossed age of minimum 21 years on the August 1st of examination year.

UPSC Civil Services Exam is conducted in offline mode once a year. So, for preparing of UPSC exam, you must have enough knowledge of all the subjects asked in your semesters as well as you should be aware of the new syllabus that would be released for 2025 UPSC aspirants. So, from now ,you can maintain a schedule and try to get all th concepts and practice all numerical. Make sure you attend mock test for the same. UPSC - Union Public Service Commission. is India's central agency which conducts exams like Civil Services Exam (CSE) to recruit candidates into top government services like IAS, IPS, IFS etc. UPSC recruits candidates to both civil services as well as Defense services. The eligibililty Criteria for UPSC is to hold a graduation degree from a recognised university it does not matter if you fail in any paper you only need to have a valid degree to be eligible for UPSC and must fulfill the other Criteria.

First of all there is no restrictions in terms of belonging to specific stream when it comes to appearing for UPSC, hence if you wish to pursue graduation in psychology , you can do so what will help regarding this you can have it as an optional subject for Mains, other than this the syllabus of UPSC is quite extensive, and mainly consists of polity, history, geography, economics etc, and the advantage here if you take optional subject as psychology is you don't have to prepare separately in this case, other than this, if you don't succeed for UPSC, then you can pursue post graduate course in psychology, and qualify NET to become assistant professor or pursue PhD, you can also pursue BEd if you wish to teach in school, and you can appear for CTET or state level TETs conducted regarding this.
After the completion of your B.com you can directly apply for UPSC examination as the eligibility criteria for UPSC exam is that a candidate should have a graduation degree from any recognised institution.
Since, you are in the final year of your B.com I would recommend you to start preparing for your UPSC exam and completely focus on it.

You can chose option subject in the Mains examination, the candidate is to choose one Optional Subject from the UPSC list of 26 Optional Subjects. Each Optional Subject has two papers of 250 Marks each thereby making about 30% of Mains Exam
