Nishant Joshi 24th Sep, 2021

Hi, so basically UPSC's eligibility criteria is very simple. You have to complete graduation from any recognised University. And you must be atleast 21(years of age). The age limit is 32(years of age) for general and varies with different category.

The number of attempts are 6 and this too varies with different category.

You must be a citizen of India for positions such as IAS and IPS.

So to sum up, you are definitely eligible for appearing in this exam.

Hope this is helpful.

Can a physics graduate student can take letreture in upsc exam

Subhrajit Mukherjee 17th Sep, 2021

Yeah! You can choose any subject as your optional and it doesn't matter which subject you have done graduation on. But you must have a reason why you are studying literature instead of Physics which you have taken as a subject in your UG. Such questions are oftenly asked in the Personality Test of UPSC CSE. So you can take the subject but you should give some time in thinking an accurate answer of choosing Literature as an optional and not physics.

can I write upsc exam after civil engineering

Hi
Yes, of course. You are eligible and can apply for that. However, you can only apply for the UPSC Civil Services exam when you will be in your final year or would have been completed your engineering degree
The UPSC offers three engineering disciplines as optionals in the UPSC mains exam. They are civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering. They are indeed highly specialized subjects, and only engineering graduates are recommended to take them up as optionals.

Thank you.
