Hii There,

You will meet the eligibility criteria for the UPSC exam in 2026. This is because the UPSC requires candidates to be at least 21 years old as of August 1st in the year they intend to take the examination. According to your provided date of birth, you will turn 21 on March 15, 2026, which is before the August 1, 2026, deadline for eligibility. Therefore, you will become eligible to take the UPSC exam in 2026, specifically for the UPSC 2026 examination cycle.

i was born on 13/08/1988 OBC category can I eligible for coming upsc civils prelims 2024

shivamtrivedi0005 13th Sep, 2023

Hello aspirant,

No, you are not qualified to take the UPSC 2023 exam.

This is due to the fact that the upper age restriction for the obc category is 35 years old as of the first of August of the year of application, meaning that in order to be eligible, you must not be older than 35 on the first of August 2024 in the case of the UPSC 2024.

So unfortunately you do not full fill the eligibility criteria.

Thank you

Hope it helps you

To be eligible for the UPSC IAS exam, you must provide evidence of your graduation from a university recognized either at the central or state level. You should possess a government-recognized bachelor's degree certificate or an equivalent qualification. If you hold a professional or technical bachelor's degree such as BE or MBBS that is acknowledged by the government, you are deemed eligible to participate in the UPSC examination.
