hello shreyashi,
for the veterinary course in India, you need to go for BVSc and keep in mind that you should only opt for this course if you are really fond of pets and animals.
for this, you msut have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam in science stream with PCB.
there are even colleges that keep their own entrance exams.
so kindly refer to the college you want to go for in particular, so that we could help better.
good luck
Dear Pranakrushna,
To be eligible for the Bachelor's in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry course, a candidate should have passed the class 12th (+2) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Admission to most veterinary colleges is done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the university concerned. Those who want to pursue master degree in veterinary science or animal husbandry must have completed Bachelor’s degree in respective branch with good percentages of marks. The selection is made on the basis of entrance examination conducted by a particular institution or university.
To pursue BV.Sc program, the admission for 15% will be done through NEET score and the counseling will be done through Veterinary Council of India adn rest seats criteria will be varied as per the state/university and college few may be accepting NEET or some of them may conduct their own entrance.
Good Luck!!!
Dear Yash, Biology is not only useful in veterinary practice but also mandatory to take admission in B.V.Sc. & AH Programme. Only after completing this 5 year long programme one can become a veterinary doctor and practice. Example, Eligibility for BVSC @ Birsa Agricultural University: Students from Biology stream after completing 10+2 with PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) including English are being admitted on annual basis through State Entrance Test (85%) and National Entrance Test (15%) conducted by JCECEB, Jharkhand at State level and V.C.I. at national level respectively.I hope it helps!
Yes.
NEET entrance is required for 15% quota seats as its counseling will be conducted by the Veterinary Council of India and it's decision shall be final.
Also, the admission criteria varies for rest 85% quota seats, private colleges and deemed universities as few may be accepting NEET and few may be conducting their own entrance.
All India Quota seats admission will be through NEET entrance exam in Veterinary colleges for 85% quota seats the admission might be through State level entrance exam nothing is announced till now for these seats so you need to wait and stay connected with Careers360 for the updated information. For All India Quota seats (15%) you can apply NEET entrance exam, it is available from 8th February, 2018 You can fill it with the given below link.
