SIR/MAM I HAVE GOT 8434 RANK FROM GENERAL CATEGORY AND I AM FROM WEST BENGAL. PLEASE SUGGEST ME THE BEST BRANCH TO GO WITH IN WHICH COLLEGE ACCORDING TO MY RESULTS.

Anurag Khanna 15th Aug, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

It is quite difficult to make any accurate prediction of your admission chances for any particular campus or branch because the cut-offs keep on changing every year depending upon various factors such as :-

*** number of candidates appeared in WBJEE 2022

*** difficulty level of the paper

*** top score for WBJEE 2022

*** total number of seats available for admission and so on

However on the basis of previous year's cut-off you have good chances in :-

Cooch Behar Government Engineering College, Cooch Behar - Electrical Engineering

Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College, Purulia - Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

B.P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Kolkata - COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

And some more....

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/wbjee-cutoff

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

You can also use WBJEE College Predictor for more accurate predictions :-

I hope this information helps you.

Smritijyoti99 13th Aug, 2022

Hello aspirant!

It is not possible to get admission in MBBS without NEET in India. NEET UG exam is mandatory for admission in MBBS. For getting admission you need to qualify the exam. Assuming you as general candidate you need to score minimum 50 percentile, around 140-150 marks, to qualify the exam.

Here are steps to get admission in private medical colleges -

  1. Qualify NEET-UG Entrance Exam
  2. Register for State Counselling
  3. Document Verification
  4. First Counselling
  5. Second Counseling
  6. MOP-UP Round
  7. Direct Admission to MBBS
  • Tuition fee ranging from Rs. 10lakhs to Rs. 27lakhs per year for management quota.
  • Fee structure in private colleges are same it doesn't matter how much marks you scored in NEET exam.
  • There are a total of 23 MBBS colleges in West Bengal. Out of those, as many as 16 MBBS colleges in West Bengal are government-owned and only 7 are private.
  • Average fees from Rs 47, 000 to 18.20 Lakhs for mbbs course in west bengal govt. Medical colleges.

For getting government medical college you need to score 575+ around 30k rank.

is 570+ a safe score in neet in west bengal for general category state quota

Karishma Sawhney 11th Aug, 2022

Hello aspirant

Please note that the cut off varies every year depending on various factors such as category of the student, number of students attempting the paper, number of newly opened colleges etc.

If we look at the previous year's cut off, a candidate belonging to the general category scored 572 marks, from the state quota of West Bengal. The college allotted was Maharaja Jitendra Narayan Medical College and Hospital, Coochbehar.

So, yes 570+ is a safe score to get a government medical seat in West Bengal for your category.

With 339456 general rank and 24256 SC rank in JEE mains, it is very difficult or quite impossible to get any Government college in West Bengal.

neet score -318 ST categoy. state- West Bengal. any chance????

Aakanksha 11th Aug, 2022
Hi aspirant
At a score of 318 you can expect your rank to be around 3.34 lakhs- 3.36 lakhs as it was in NEET 2021.
However I do not guarantee that as the final rank, it's only provisional and bound to change. It is because this depends on various factors like the highest score, total number of candidates, and the cut off.

Now, you can predict your rank using our rank predictor tool with the following link.
https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-rank-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=neet_rp
You can also predict your college using our college predictor using the following link.

CALCUTTA NATIONAL MED COLL,KOLKATA 82725
NILRATAN SIRKAR MEDICAL COLLEGE, KOLKATA 109431
ESIC PGIMSR, Joka, Kolkata, WB 91706
Burdwan Medical College, Burdwan 136588
AIIMS, Kalyani 66362

However at this score and All India Rank (AIR) the chances of admission to government medical colleges are absolutely nil for you
The closing ranks for ST category students is generally in the range 90k-1.5 lakhs
You can opt for admission to private medical colleges of your state.
Hope this helps
All the best:)
