See if you are a candidate from other state then you have to select three zone. This zones are:

Districts of W B.

Zone

Howrah

Salkia/Bally/Uttarpara

Kolkata

Salt Lake/New Town

(Salt Lake/Lake Town/New Town/Rajar Hat)

Kolkata

South Kolkata

(Ballygaunge/Minto Park/Bhowanipore/Tollygaunge/Jadavpur)

Kolkata

West Kolkata

(Joka/Behala/Alipore/Chetla/Khidirpore/Budge Budge)

Paschim Burdwan

Asansol

Paschim Burdwan

If you need to choose a Zone, then keep Kolkata in the 1st preference followed by Howrah followed by Durgapur. Its in general that you will get the seat allotment in Kolkata or Howrah.

I am a non domicile of WB, Gen category, WBJEE rank 3343. As more than 450 seats are vacant in Jadhavpur University, so do i have any chance to get any seat in Jadhavpur University in this on spot round that is gonna start from 14th december ?

Piyush 9th Dec, 2021

hello aspirant,

Since you've said that you are a non-domicile student of WB, so the chances for you to get a seat in Jadhavpur university is pretty low as the cutoff trends for state candidates is much lower as compared to other state candidates. However, it's just a prediction, as cutoff vary every year and it depends on the number of factors like Number of candidates appear in examination, difficulty level of paper and etc..

Looking at the previous year cutoff trends, the closing rank for the Mechanical and Electrical branch was around 400 and 500 respectively, and that was for state candidates. But, according to your rank in WBJEE, you have chances to get mechanical or civil or any other lower branch in spot round councelling as there are high number of chances for students to get a seat in spot round counselling.

But don't depend on Jadhavpur totally, instead you should also try for other government colleges in West Bengal. You have got brilliant marks so you will definitely get a good college. But you can also look your results in spot counselling as well.

For more info about the cutoff trends in jadhavpur university, you can look at the below article :

I hope that this will help.

For going for Electronics, CSE, Mechanical, Civil, Instrumentation etc., then the of need a very decent score, your rank should be under 600–700. But, if you want to get in IT, Power, Printing, Construction -etc then scoring under 1200–1500 will be enough. Hope it helps. Thank you. Dear aspirant,

If you are scoring 140-150 marks in wbjee then you can be rest assured that you will definitely get a rank under 100 or 200 . However the cut offs depends on certain factors like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
