After the results are declared by National Testing Agency for the NEET UG Examination the Counseling process for seat allotment takes place.
There are two counseling process -
• All India Quota Counseling or AIQ Counseling
• State counseling
------Through All India Quota Counseling (15% seats reserved in medical colleges) you can take admission in any Government Medical college throughout India. (Note : All India Quota Counseling isn't conducted for seats in Private Medical Colleges)
------- MCC, Medical Counseling Committee conducts All India quota counseling for following seats -
• 15% All India Quota seats MBBS/ BDS Seats of States (participation of the Union Territory of J&K is subject to their contribution of seats),
• 100%MBBS/ BDS Seats of BHU,
• 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India,
• 100% JIPMER seats (Puducherry/ Karaikal),
• 100% AMU
• 85% of State Quota seats of DU/ I.P University (VMMC/ ABVIMS/ESIC Dental),
• 100% -Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Milia Islamia) along with 5% internal Quota of Jamia students
• 15% IP quota seats of ESIC.
------- But Through state Counseling , you can take admission in Medical colleges in your domicile state only. (For admission in Private Medical Colleges of your state you will have to participate in NEET state counseling
It is very important for you to have domicile certificate to participate in State counseling of colleges you are having certificate of.
------Also I would like to tell you that there are only few states in India which allows students from other states to take admission in their medical colleges through State counseling. Such states are called OPEN STATES.
• Also these admission are in private medical colleges only.
------ Students can participate in these state counselling irrespective of their domicile. Example -Madhya Pradesh is one such state but there is a condition Non Domicile holders are Allowed but from 2nd round of state counseling. Karnataka also allows other state students to participate in counseling for private seats.
-----Also you must know that there are closed states that don’t allow other state student. On the other hand some states are there which are not open for all. In these states only state domicile candidates can take admission. Example - Maharashtra is one such state where only Domicile certificate owners can participate in state counseling.
------- The details and procedure for All India Quota Counseling are as following -
National Testing Agency has declared the results of NEET 2021 examination. Now the All India Quota Counseling will take place for 15% seats reserved in medical colleges of all states.
MCC will conduct 4 rounds of counselling - AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-up round, and AIQ stray vacancy round.
Remaining seats after completion of Round 2 will be filled in mop-up and stray vacancy round by MCC in online mode.
The four rounds will only be conducted for AIQ seats having All India character which are contributed by states for 15% UG seats.
• Fresh candidates will only be allowed in the first three rounds and not in the stray vacancy round.
• Candidates will be given an option for upgradation and free exit only in Round 1
• Candidates who join the allotted seat in Round 1 will not be allowed to resign and will be ineligible for participating in further rounds of counseling.
• Candidates who do not join the allotted seat in Round 2 will be eligible for further rounds of counselling by paying a security deposit and fresh registration in mop-up round only.
NEET 2021 AIQ Counselling process includes-
• Candidates to register themselves on official website of MCC- Medical counseling Committee-

• Fee payment- Rs 1000 is to be paid by unreserved category candidates while For SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates, registration fees is Rs 500.
• Choice filling of colleges candidate wishes to get admission in
• Finally seat allotment based on NEET scores, reservation criteria, and the number of seats.
A security deposit of-
• For Central Universities and 15% AIQ- Rs 10,000 by Unreserved category students and Rs 5000 by SC/ST/OBC category candidates.
• For Deemed Universities- Rs 2,00,000
is to be deposited by students which will be refunded.
Following are the documents that will be required during counseling and original documents are to be produced-
• NEET Admit Card
• NEET Scorecard or Rank Letter
• Class 10 certificate and mark sheet (for date of birth)
• Class 12 certificate and mark sheet
• ID proof (Aadhar/PAN Card/ Driving License/Passport)
• Eight passport size photographs
• Provisional Allotment Letter

Following are the reservation that are given to the candidates of various categories-
• 10% seat reservation for GEN-EWS candidates, (candidates whose family income is less than Rs 8 Lakh per annum)
• 15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste(SC) Students.
• 7.5% seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students.
• 27% seats are reserved for OBC-NCL candidates only in colleges run by central government.
• 5% of seats are reserved for Person with Disability PwD. This is a horizontal reservation which means that 5% of all seats reserved for various categories are reserved for candidates with disability from that category.
