To calculate Cutoff marks of TNEA:-
Sum of [(Physics/4),(chemistry/4),(Maths/2)]
candidates who have scored mark above than this cutoff mark is qualified. Cutoff rank depends on lots of factors as there will be many candidates who have same score. these all value will be normalized and rank list for AIR and category -wise will be released.

The total marks for every subject is 200
so first take your mathematics mark divide it by 2,then you will get marks out of 100
Then marks of physics and chemistry should be divided by 4,then you will get marks out of 50
Finally add all the marks and you will get your cutoff

see cutoff score changes every year and it depends on number of participants, seat matrix, questions difficulty level etc, so at this score you have less chances for core stream in bits by gate score. so to become safe side it will be good if you participate in bits hd exam.
