Solution : Here CP is the cost price and SP is the selling price.
Given: CP of 15 mangoes = Re. 1
CP of 1 mango = $\frac{1}{15}$
Let SP of 1 mango be $\frac{1}{x}$
To get a 25% loss, we know that,
Loss percentage = $\frac{ ext{CP-SP}}{ ext{CP}} imes100$
⇒ $25 = \frac{\frac{1}{15}-\frac{1}{x}}{\frac{1}{15}} imes100$
⇒ $25 = \frac{(x-15)}{15x} imes15 imes100$
⇒ $25x=100x-1500$
⇒ $75x=1500$
⇒ $x=20$
So, 25 mangoes were sold for a rupee, so that there is a loss of 25%.
Hence, the correct answer is 20.
