. In Chemistry, Transition Elements and Coordination Chemistry, Periodic Table and Representative elements take 3 questions slot. Thermodynamics and Gaseous state, Atomic structure, Chemical Bonding, Chemical and Iconic Equilibrium, Solid State and Surface Chemistry and Nuclear Chemistry and Environment get 2 questions slot each and the remaining get 1 question each. If we leave Physical Chemistry, that is Basic Concepts of Chemistry for 2%,Properties of Gases 2%, Thermodynamics 4%, Redox Reactions and Electromotive Force 5%, Structure of Atom 2% and Solid State 2%. That is 17% of the total syllabus. And you should score the remaining marks in the rest 83%. There are 25 questions in Chemistry section and approximately 8-9 questions are asked from Physical Chemistry. Out of the remaining 17 questions, assuming you get atleast 10 correct, you still get a score of 40. This is just an assumption but the actual score depends on how many questions you get correct. Because every wrong answer takes away points in the form of negative marking. For more information, please read our article: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-exam-pattern
