M S Ramaiah University , Bangalore, is one of the reputed private universities in Karnataka. For admission through KCET the cutoff ranks change every year.It depends upon the category, number of seats and number of students applied.

Last year for branches like Computer science and Engineering the cutt off was between 10,000-15000 for General category students and branches like mechanical, civil or ECE their cutt off was between 20,000-40,000.For categories like SC,ST or OBC the cutt offs go much higher.

Yes, the 47 LPA package might have been either off-campus based placement or through pre-placement offer (PPO) and not the college's on-campus drive. A lot of institutions put off-campus offers in the highest amount  of packages. Always confirm placement reports to be clear.

Yes, except for top colleges like IITs and IIMs, there is a probability of 90% that the 47 LPA package claim is off-campus.

Generally, private colleges show the off-campus placements also as too boost their record and attract large crowds. But they don't mention it to be off-campus so a student thinks that what a great college it is.

So yes, there is a great possibility that the 47 LPA package is off campus.

Between SJBIT and AMC Engineering College, SJBIT is generally considered the better option for engineering. Here's why:

• SJBIT is affiliated with VTU and has NAAC ‘A’ grade accreditation, better infrastructure, experienced faculty, and more consistent placement support. It is also known for its discipline and academic environment.
• On the other hand AMC Engineering College is a decent option, but when compared to SJBIT, it falls a little short in terms of placement statistics, faculty quality, and reputation.
