Hi aspirant,

as per government rule all private or governmemt colleges need to provide 10% of total seats to the ews category. Now in ews all general candidates come whose yearly income is less than the stipulated income. So yes ews category is applicable for private medical college.

What is the difference between a private seat and a private quota seat in the state of Karnataka

Kanith Sawkar 4th Oct, 2020

Assuming that you are referring to seats at medical college for admission through NEET, I assume that you want to know the difference between a private quota seat and a private seat.

Mainly, admission through NEET in Karnataka is either through 15% All India Quota or 85% State quota. This state quota is also referred to as state 'government quota' seats, which includes seats in government medical colleges as well as private medical colleges. I believe that a private seat here refers to a seat in a private medical college under state government quota, for which you have to pay less fees. You need to score good marks in NEET to get such seats.

The other private quota seat you are referring to here is I believe the private/management/NRI quota seats available at private medical colleges in Karnataka. If you haven't scored well in NEET but got the qualifying marks, you can opt for these seats, which will cost about 7-8 lakhs per year.

Hope I have answered your question.

To prepare well for neet follow the below mentioned tips

*Give priority to ncert:-To prepare for neet exam first of all go through ncert as 90-95%  questions in neet are based on the  concepts from ncert  ,  go through solved examples and unsolved questions in the ncert , in biology  study all the diagrams also , as diagram based questions are also there , so you need to master NCERT .

The  best  books  which you can go for covering  and  mastering  neet examination syllabus  are listed  below  Subjectwise :-

*You can make short notes for quick revision of important concepts and formulas , keep revising your concepts at regular intervals, like once in a week or 15 days .

*Make routine or timetable :- Give at least 8 hours or more to study , your routine should revolve around things i.e study, revise and practice

*Solve previous year NEET  questions :-it will let you know the examination pattern, type and difficulty level of questions etc

* Once done with complete syllabus, go through NEET mock test papers , it will let you know your preparation level and and weak areas so that you can work on them and perform well in your examination
