Normality in simple terms can be defined as the number of gram equivalent of solid dissolved in volume of proper solvent measured in litres.

So, the molar weight of magnesium chloride is equal to 71+23= 94amu, and the given weight of solute is equal to hundred grams. So, the number of gram equivalent is equal to 100/94.

So, the normality of the solute is equal to 100/94 ÷1 =1.05 N.
