Solution : Let $x$ km be the required distance.
According to the question,
$\frac{x}{4} - \frac{x}{5} = \frac{(9 + 9)}{60}$
⇒ $\frac{5 x - 4 x}{20} = \frac{3}{10}$
$∴ x = \frac{3}{10} \times 20 = 6$ km
Hence, the correct answer is 6 km.
