Hello Gautam
A diploma holder is eligible and ineligible for the following:
1. NDA: No, a diploma holder is not eligible for NDA as they require the candidates to be passed or appearing in Class 12th.
2. JEE Main s: Similarly, a diploma holder is not eligible for JEE Mains as it is only for 12th passed/appearing students with PCM.
3. JEE Advance: Yes, a diploma holder is eligible for JEE Advance and can aim for IITs.
Regarding your second doubt: No, a diploma holder is not eligible to take admission in NITs on the basis of JEE MAIN marks . A diploma holder can only aim for IITs and that too on the basis of JEE Advance.
Thank you!!!
A diploma holder cannot apply for NDA. NDA requires candidates to have passed or be appearing in 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics for the Air Force and Navy wings. Since diploma is not equivalent to 10+2 with PCM in the required format, diploma students are not eligible for NDA.
For JEE Main and Advanced, diploma holders can apply, but only for admission into IITs through JEE Advanced, and that too in the first year of B.Tech. They cannot get lateral entry into the second year in IITs. However, they are not eligible for NITs or IIITs admission via JEE Main because NITs require candidates to have passed 10+2 with PCM, and a diploma is not considered an equivalent qualification in this context. So diploma holders can’t use JEE Main marks to get into NITs.

Hello Gautam,
No, diploma holders cannot apply for NDA (National Defence Academy) admissions as the NDA only allows candidates who have completed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics. For JEE Mains and Advanced diploma holders can attempt JEE Advanced (for IITs), but not JEE Mains. They are eligible to get admission into NITs by JEE Advanced.
Also, Diploma holders would not qualify for admission to NITs from JEE Mains also as NITs admission is based on 10+2 qualifications, not diploma. If you are a diploma holder, your best way should be lateral entry schemes like LEET (Lateral Entry Entrance Test) to secure admission into B.Tech in 2nd year at other engineering colleges, not IITs or NITs.
S orry ,diploma holders are NOT eligible for NDA based on diploma qualification alone.Because NDA Eligibility requires candidates to have passed 12th grade from recognized board. NITs do not accept diploma holders for direct admission into B.Tech programs via JEE Main . They also do not offer lateral entry. But you can appear for JEE mains & Advanced. However Jee main scores are not valid for admission into NITs or other CFTIs for diploma holders. If you have qualified in Mains or Advanced you are eligible for IIT admission.
