top-tier colleges may not be within immediate reach, some mid-range institutions still provide decent quality education at a lower cost, especially if you’re open to less popular branches like B.Sc., general B.Tech streams, or diploma-based programs.

In Mumbai, colleges like Rizvi College, Bhavan’s, Pillai College, or VES College sometimes have openings for students with moderate scores, Government-aided colleges like KJ Somaiya (for B.Sc. courses) or Wilson College may also have seats depending on your category . If you belong to a reserved category or EWS, you may have better chances of finding a seat at lower fees.

Also, keep an eye on the CAP rounds, especially the later ones, as seats often remain vacant and cutoffs drop. Choose a wide range of colleges

Make sure to stay updated with  the official DTE Maharashtra website for updates on the counselling schedule, cutoffs, and college fee structures.
