Regular newspaper reading is required,to get in the mental frame of UPSC you must develop and interest in the happenings around the world and start developing opinions on them, you can actually opt for any graduation stream like engineering, commerce etc. but if your entire aim is upsc then you should opt for some courses in humanities which will lay a solid foundation for the examination, better join some foundation batch in some coaching in delhi. All the best.

UPSC allows wide variety of subjects so there is very high flexibility in subjects you can choose, you can go for any stream from science or arts to commerce, but if you are extremely focussed on UPSC its better you opt for arts stream because it will lay a very solid foundation for the UPSC examination and during the course of studying you may also develop an inclination for a particular subject which can work you as an optional.
