Yes BA hons(History) is good if you want to go for civil services exams after completing your 12th.It will be beneficial for you as there are some sections in Civil Services exam wheree they ask for History,Political and Geography.

Also there are many good colleges in India for this course like DU,BHU and JNU etc,where you can join either through merit basis or by clearing entrance exam.
