Dear aspirant,

Bone is a connective tissue made mostly of collagen. It is a living and growing tissue. Collage is a protein that provides a soft framework. Calcium Phosphate is also found in bones which which adds strength and hardens the framework. More than 99% of the calcium in body is present in bones and teeth.

Bones are of 2 types:

  • Cortical
  • Trabecular

Cortical bone is dense and compact and forms the outer layer of bone. Trabecular bone is spongy and has honeycomb like structure and forms inner layer of cell.

Bone forms the framework of our body and provide our muscles support. Bones protect our internal organs also from damaging. In this way bones are very helpful to us.

Hope this helps.

A bone is a rigid organ that constitutes part of the vertebrate skeleton in animals. Bones protect the various organs of the body, produce red and white blood cells, store minetals, provide structure and support for the body, and enable mobility.
