Hi

Yes definitely he can.

After 12 std take up Bsc in physics.

Then after Bsc take up Msc in any field you like.

Like Msc in Theoretical Physics

Msc in Applied Physics

Msc in Particle Physics

To become physicist it is important that you need to be good in fundamentals of physics.

You need to do some research.
