Based upon your fetched rank in the JEE mains it might be harder for you to get in the good / top NIT / IIIT Institutions but yeah you can get into the newer NIT / IIIT Institutions which is newly opened by the fund of state to Centre. So with this try to get in the good government institution at your respective state based upon your rank under your category.

No you cannot get into any good nits or iiits with a general category rank of 45k to get admission into any prestigious college of engineering like top nits one should get atlaest a rank below 20k so. He or she might expect to get some colleges. But to get core branches in top nits below 10k rank is necessary.
