     MBA (Masters in Business Administration) is definitely better than PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management). MBAis a degree course offered by the colleges which are affiliated to the universities. And therefore universities can only offer MBA programmes.

PGDM is a diploma course offered by the institutes that are recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and which are not affiliated to any university.

This totally depends on what you want to choose.
While MBA is basically more concerned about the theoretical aspects of Management,PGDM on the other hand focuses more on making the student fit for the market.
Also,only universities can provide MBA degrees and colleges can't. So,any of the IIM's as well as XLRI offer PGDM and not MBA.
If you compare the salaries of the two,there isn't a vast difference as well.While you have the IIM's and XLRI for PGDM,you have FMS,IIFT,Symbiosis etc for MBA.
The course fee will obviously be higher for PGDM.
Hence,it's important what you want to choose.

MBA & PGDM both are good There is no difference when it comes to how the industry treats PGDM & MBA Graduates. Career growth is same in both of the programme, It is also depend on your skill & performance during the programme whether it is PGDM or MBA.MBA is a degree course offered by the colleges affiliated by Universities and PGDM is a diploma course offered by institutes that are recognised by All India council for Technical Education & which are Autonomus and not affiliated to any university.

A student persuing MBA study will be studying more of the theoratical aspects of Management. An MBA institute follow a fixed curriculam as it will be based on universities guidlines.
A student pursuing PGDM course will be gaining knowledge regarding building soft skills & this programme is more industry oriented. An Autonomus institute does not have to follow university standards, so it is free to change its curriculam according to the industry standards and change in the business Environment.

Now the choice should be yours as per your interest but now a days most of the students prefer PGDM as it focus on skill based on market requirement.
